Even though most of the sports world will be focused on football this Sunday, Major League Baseball has a full schedule as well, which finishes up with a good NL West matchup between the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants. The Padres have taken the first two games of the series and will look to close out the sweep at 7:20 p.m. ET on Peacock. Let’s dive into the matchup and take a look at my top three best bets from the player prop market in this Sunday Night Baseball matchup.
Overall, the Padres are solid road favorites at -143 on the Moneyline, and they are getting 72% of the bets on the Moneyline as of Sunday afternoon. The over/under is 7.5 runs, with 69% of the bets on the over.

Padres at Giants Prop Bets for Sunday 9/13/26
Nick Pivetta under 4.5 strikeouts (+107)
The Padres will give Nick Pivetta the ball for his second start since April. He started the season with a few strong outings, but then was sidelined for almost five months with a right flexor strain. He was limited to 63 pitches in his return, but he worked effectively against the Nationals, allowing just two base runners in five scoreless innings.
While he looked sharp overall, Pivetta only had two strikeouts and one whiff. Even in his three rehab appearances, he was under this prop in two of his three games. While he has good strikeout stuff, he will be trying to work efficiently once again and will also be limited in how long he can stay in the game.
The Giants still rank in the bottom 10 in the MLB in K% this season, although that number has trended up in the last month. In this series, Michael King only had four strikeouts in his start on Saturday, after Robbie Ray had five strikeouts in five innings. With Pivetta still on a tighter pitch count, this prop looks like great value at plus-money for him to stay under the total in his strikeout props.
Fernando Tatis Jr. 2+ Total Bases (+103)
Tatis has been right in the middle of the Padres’ surge back into the third Wild Card spot at 80-68. Over his last 20 games, Tatis has hit a blistering .321 with a .408 wOBA and .595 SLG. In those 20 games, he has 50 total bases, for an average of 2.5 total bases per contest.
On Saturday, Tatis had a handful of total bases, his 21st homer of the season, and three walks. He has at least three total bases in five of his last six games after that big performance, so you could even be more aggressive and go to 3+ Total Bases at +227 in Sunday night’s Padres-Giants prop bets.
Tatis is 9-for-38 in his career against Giants’ starter Logan Webb, with four doubles and a home run. He’ll just need one extra-base hit or a pair of singles to hit this plus-money prop, and the way he’s been rolling lately, he brings great value from the leadoff spot.
Bryce Eldridge 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI (+119)
With the news that Rafael Devers (core) is out for the rest of the season and is being placed on the 60-day IL, Eldridge will step in as the focus of the team’s offense, and he’ll continue to bat third in the batting order against the Padres and Pivetta. Eldridge played 10 games last year in the majors but started the year back in Triple-A. This year, he has played 103 games in the majors, hitting .267 with 16 homers, 48 runs scored and 53 RBI.
He has averaged 1.94 HRR (hits, runs, and RBI) this year, and he has been playing even better coming down the stretch. Since August 1, Eldridge has averaged 2.25 HRR per game in his 35 contests, hitting .298 with a 49.5% hard-hit rate.
Eldridge has nine hard-hit batted-ball events in his last six games, and he had a six-game streak with at least 2+ HRR before going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Saturday. He should be in a good spot to bounce back against Pivetta, who has held righties to a .121 average and .346 OPS in his limited work this season, but lefties have hit .227 with a .595 OPS. The Giants have stacked the top of the order with lefties, and if they find success, Eldridge should deliver the green on this plus-money option in Sunday’s Padres-Giants prop bets.
