Rams vs. 49ers Anytime TD Scorer Picks: Best Bets & Long Shots

Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season continues Thursday in Melbourne, Australia (or 10:35 AM Friday local time) as the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers face off. This rivalry has produced a plethora of elite matchups in recent history, and this meeting has a chance to add to that tally. Here are my Rams-49ers anytime TD scorer picks for Week 1.

Mike Evans+20049ersWR
Rams D/ST+500RamsTeam Defense

Davante Adams (+110)

Recent history suggests that if Davante Adams takes the field, chances are he’ll find the end zone. Last season, statistically one in 4.2 catches resulted in a touchdown for the veteran star. That is outrageous efficiency, and he almost certainly won’t maintain that into his thirteenth pro campaign.

However, it certainly could continue into Week 1. Everyone will be focused on Puka Nacua, but the superstar receiver hasn’t practiced consistently all offseason, leaving Adams and Matthew Stafford to hone their rapport. When the Rams get near the end zone, they look to Adams, and that should remain the case Thursday night.

Mike Evans (+200)

It’s the duel of two aging future Hall of Fame receivers! After 12 seasons in Tampa Bay, Mike Evans finally ventured elsewhere this offseason and landed in a different bay… the San Francisco one. Or technically, for the geography enthusiasts out there, he landed in Santa Clara. Either way, Evans signed with the Niners and immediately assumed the No. 1 WR role for Brock Purdy.

The veteran has battled a myriad of injuries throughout camp (nothing new there) but appears to be pretty healthy heading into his Niners debut. The Rams defense is quite fearsome, but they did actually rank in the bottom half of the league in TDs allowed to receivers last year. The Niners are going to struggle to run the ball, setting up a big day for their new playmaker.

Rams D/ST (+500)

Did I mention that the Rams defense is scary? That may have been an understatement. Even with Aaron Donald out for this contest, the acquisition of arguably the NFL’s best player in Myles Garrett makes this unit ridiculously strong. They have the potential to wreak havoc on any given play, and I have a strong feeling they could set a record for single-season defensive touchdowns.

Brock Purdy (+600)

Turning to the opposite side of the coin for this long shot. If Brock Purdy is going to be running for his life frequently against this defense, that opens the door for a multitude of broken plays. Purdy has the legs to stretch one of those into a touchdown, making him a solid value on this board.
