The US Open Round of 16 is full of Americans and top talents on both the men’s and women’s sides of the draw. There are some amazing matches on Sunday, with spots in the quarterfinals on the line.
Here are my best bets for Sunday of the Round of 16 at the 2026 US Open.
2026 US Open Round of 16 Best Bets
Parlay: Carlos Alcaraz -1.5 Sets vs. Tommy Paul & Ben Shelton ML vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas (-101)
Carlos Alcaraz made his big return after four months away from the sport. He is hoping to defend his US Open title, especially with Jannik Sinner out of the picture. Alcaraz has looked sharp so far, despite how rusty he was coming into the tournament. In the Round of 16, he will face off against Tommy Paul. Paul has performed well at this tournament so far, but this is typically how things go for him at majors. Paul handles his business against lesser players, but struggles against elite competition.
The two most recent matches between Carlos Alcaraz and Tommy Paul have been played at majors. Alcaraz beat Paul in straight sets at the 2026 Australian Open and at Roland-Garros in 2025. Overall, Alcaraz has won five straight matches against Tommy Paul. He should take care of business in three or four sets against Paul this time around as well.
Ben Shelton is looking to make it to his second major quarterfinal of the year, having done so at the Australian Open. Shelton broke onto the scene with his magical run to the US Open semifinals in 2023. However, he has failed to capture that magic over the past two years. Shelton is finally on a good path to go on another deep run in New York. He has what should be a favorable matchup against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Greek had not made it out of the second round of a major since the 2024 French Open. It has been great to see Tsitsipas go on another big major run in the twilight of his career, but it should end here. Ben Shelton is in great form, having just won a Masters 1000 title in Canada. He should keep it rolling and move on to the quarterfinals.
Parlay: Aryna Sabalenka ML vs. Taylor Townsend & Marta Kostyuk ML vs. Linda Noskova (-101)
This has been a great run from Taylor Townsend. Townsend is primarily a doubles player, but is now in the Round of 16 at the US Open for the second straight year. Unfortunately, this is the end of the road for the American. She is facing off against the No. 1 player in the world, who is looking to defend her US Open crown.
This has been a bit of a disappointing year for Aryna Sabalenka, but she is still the best player in the world on hardcourt. Sabalenka won the Sunshine Double and made the Australian Open. She did not have a great summer, but she seems determined to defend her crown in New York. Sabalenka should beat Townsend in this match.
Marta Kostyuk has had a sensational year. She made back-to-back major semifinals at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon, and also won her first WTA 1000 title in Madrid. Kostyuk is looking to keep that amazing major run going by advancing here in New York. She is facing off against Linda Noskova, the 2026 Wimbledon champion, in an epic Round of 16 matchup.
Noskova has also had a breakout 2026 season and was able to top it off with a major win. However, she has cooled off a bit since switching back to hardcourt. Kostyuk has been nearly flawless at this tournament, yet has yet to drop a set or even require a tiebreak. She has all of the momentum on her side going into this match and should get the win against Noskova.
