WNBA Best Bets Today: Top Prop Bets for Friday 8/28/26

Four games of WNBA action are taking place across tonight’s slate. The postseason is inching closer, and some intriguing standings battles are worth watching.

Starting at 7:40 p.m. ET, the Portland Fire will take on the Atlanta Dream, while the Connecticut Sun and the Indiana Fever square-off at the same time. In the later window, with the opening tip-off set for 10:10 p.m. ET, the Toronto Tempo will play the Las Vegas Aces, and the Washington Mystics will challenge the Los Angeles Sparks.

With plenty of action on the table, there are plenty of ways to get involved on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are my top player props for tonight’s WNBA slate.

Top WNBA Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Naz Hillmon Over 9.5 Points (-110)

Reigning Sixth Player of the Year Naz Hillmon has seen her role expand on this Atlanta Dream team of late. Brionna Jones continues to battle through a left leg injury and will remain sidelined for tonight’s matchup. This has led to more opportunity for Hillmon, and she has made the most of it.

On the season, Hillmon is averaging 9.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. She has tallied at least 10 points in 15 of her 37 games played, including as many as 24 points. Hillmon has gone over this prop in eight of her past 16. Hillmon also has surpassed this total in both previous meetings with the Fire, scoring 14 and 15 points, respectively, while playing 36 minutes in each contest.

Looking deeper at the matchup, Portland ranks 13th in opponent points per game and 14th in defensive rating across the WNBA. They also rank 12th in opponent field goal percentage and 10th in opponent three-point percentage. The Fire have allowed the third-highest assisted basket percentage this season, which is especially notable considering Hillmon is not much of a self-creator. 90% of her baskets have come off of an assist this season. When Hillmon has played 25+ minutes against teams that rank in the bottom six in opponent spot-up shooting, she has covered this line in 11 of the 13 games.

Hillmon has played 32+ minutes in four of her past five games and will continue to see an expanded offensive role due to injuries. With a weak defensive matchup and the 26-year-old playing some of her best basketball, expect Hillmon to record double-digit points again tonight.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa Over 10.5 Points (-110)

The Connecticut Sun will take on the Indiana Fever tonight for their third and final matchup of the season. Indiana has the best offense in the WNBA, leading the league in points per game at 96.6 while also ranking first in offensive rating, field goal percentage, and three-point percentage. Indiana also does an excellent job setting the tone in terms of pace of play, ranking third in the league in pace. The Fever do an excellent job of getting out in transition and scoring at a high rate. However, defense is not their strong suit, as the team ranks 12th in opponent points per game and 11th in defensive rating.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa has taken on the responsibility of leading the scoring chase for the Sun, posting averages of 10.0 points and 5.9 rebounds while shooting a career-best 56.9% from the field. She has tallied over 10.5 points in 17 of the 32 games played this season, including 15 of her past 20. Nelson-Ododa is averaging 11.7 points per game across this stretch.

The 26-year-old has tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the two matchups with the Fever thus far. This is even while being limited to fewer than 22 minutes in a matchup due to the Fever producing a 35-point blowout win. Brittney Griner will remain sidelined for the matchup, taking away the true leading scorer for this Sun team. It is worth noting that Nelson-Ododa is listed as questionable, but if she is on the floor, expect her to deliver in the scoring department.

Georgia Amoore to Record 3+ Made Three-Pointers (+256)

In the later action of tonight’s WNBA slate, the Washington Mystics will take on the Los Angeles Sparks. It has been a frustrating season for Los Angeles, who have slipped to 13-25 on the year and have been eliminated from playoff contention. The Sparks also rank 14th in opponent points per game, 13th in defensive rating, 15th in opponent field goal percentage, and eighth in opponent three-point percentage while allowing the fifth-most perimeter attempts in the league.

This poor defensive matchup provides a great chance for Georgia Amoore to add to her strong scoring stretch. It has been an underwhelming overall season for the 5’6 guard, posting averages of 6.5 points on the season and shooting 32.3% from beyond the three-point arc on 4.2 long-range shots per game. But this outlook has changed of late, as Amoore has scored in double figures in three of her last four, including coming off a career-high 25-point outing last night. She is lighting it up from deep of late.

Amoore shot 6-for-11 from beyond the three-point arc last night against the Mercury, and has made three or more three-pointers in four of her past five games. The rookie has gradually gained trust as the season has progressed and has found a niche in this Washington offense. Facing a team that has struggled to defend the three-point line all year, expect her to be eager to add to this strong stretch and continue letting it fly freely.

The standard three-point prop is set at 1.5 for Amoore, with the over favored at -120 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. But I am buying the recent trend from Amoore and backing her success to continue in this favorable matchup. Look for the rookie guard to knock down three or more three-pointers for the fifth time in her past six games.
