Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman left Wednesday’s game early due to injury.
Freeman was replaced in the field by Kiké Hernandez the fifth inning against the Chicago Cubs. It’s unknown when Freeman was hurt, but he was seen looking down at his wrist on a check swing during his last at-bat. No official word has been provided yet.
Freeman went 1-for-3 during Wednesday’s game before exiting.
It’s been yet another excellent campaign for the veteran, who has a .309/.384/.485 slash line with 130 hits, 57 runs, 54 RBI, and 15 home runs. He ranks third in the NL in hits, doubles, batting average, and OPS.
The Dodgers trailed the Cubs 6-1 at the time Freeman exited the contest. They are 69-45 prior to the conclusion of today’s game, good for first in the NL West.
