There’s plenty of MLB action on the board with every team on the field at some point across the day. On Saturday’s schedule, we’ve got a few juicy matchups to look toward.

Rockies ML vs. Royals
RHP Ryan Feltner (3-5) hasn’t been great for the Rockies this year by any means with a 5.73 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. However, this play is more about the pitcher on the other team than it is about him. RHP Luinder Avila (5-3) gets the nod for the Royals with a 4.95 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in his 67.1 IP this year. He brings a poor BB% of 13.3% and lets plenty of runners onto the basepaths, which bodes quite well for Colorado here. The Rockies are fifth in OPS against right-handers at .751 and third in ISO at .178. That sounds like a recipe for success given that they’re also playing at Coors Field, where they average 5.00 runs per game, sixth most of any MLB club in their home splits. The offense should provide enough support to get this done, especially with Kansas City’s bullpen among the worst in baseball – if not the worst.
Brewers ML at Angels
The Brewers are simply dominant this year with the second-best record and run differential in baseball. They’re set to take on RHP Jose Soriano (9-6) and the Angels in Anaheim tonight, and while the starter has been excellent overall this year, he’s not invulnerable by any means. Milwaukee’s .759 OPS against right-handed pitching ranks fourth in the MLB this year, also sitting second in BABIP with a .314 mark and third in wRC+. That provides some hope here even despite the matchup, as does Soriano’s 3.81 ERA across 10 home starts compared to a 2.88 number on the road. The Brew Crew are already scoring 5.06 runs per game to begin with this year, so we’ve seen the upside of this offense. They should access it tonight.
Tigers ML vs. Athletics
Framber Valdez is an enigma. Sometimes, he’s an ace-caliber lefty who can win you a game almost singlehandedly. At other times, he’s an arm who collapses in an instant and costs you a win himself. Projecting the version of him you’ll get is a little bit tough sometimes, but he’s overall a much better hurler than the one throwing for the Athletics tonight, even with a 4.53 ERA and 1.38 WHIP without some of his typical strikeout stuff. RHP Jack Perkins (2-6) has a 6.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in his 68.1 IP. The bullpen is just about as rough, amassing a 5.65 ERA that falls dead last and a 1.51 WHIP. Since the break, Detroit ranks third in OPS at .791 with a .190 ISO that sits second among all clubs.
