Padres vs. Marlins NRFI (-110)
Taking the mound for San Diego this afternoon will be JP Sears, making his sixth start this season. During his 24.2 innings of work, the right-hander has notched a 4.38 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 20 strikeouts ( K/9). Those numbers are about in line with the fifth-year pro’s career numbers (4.52 ERA, 1.27 WHIP). Even more important, he owns an 84% NRFI rate since 2025. Sears hasn’t allowed a first inning run in each of his previous three appearances as well. The Marlins have been above-average at the plate for most of the season, but come into this one on a cold streak. Miami has scored an MLB-worst 25 runs over its previous ten contests.
As for the Fish, Eury Perez will toe the slab in this one. After a dismal first few months, the right-hander has rounded into form. Since June 24th, he’s posted a 1.24 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 32 strikeouts (9.9 K/9) over five starts. To boot, he’s delivered a career 80% NRFI rate when playing at pitcher-friendly LoanDepot Park. Saturday’s matchup with San Diego isn’t the most intimidating on paper. The Padres are 24th in runs scored (430) and 26th in OPS (.689). To boot, this Friars offense has recorded a league-worst 22.12% YRFI rate.
Mariners vs. Rangers NRFI (-130)
In this pivotal AL West clash, Seattle will hand the ball to staff ace Bryan Woo. Granted, the former All-Star hasn’t been at his absolute best this season. Through 110.1 innings of work, he’s notched a 4.16 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 109 strikeouts (8.9 K/9). To boot, he’s been far better at home (2.20 ERA). However, Globe Life Field is one of the more pitcher-friendly venues in baseball. Woo has surrendered one earned run over his previous three meetings on the road vs. Texas. In addition, the Rangers are scoring the league’s eighth-fewest runs per game at home (4.02). Woo comes into this one on a 12-game NRFI streak.
On the other side, it’ll be Nathan Eovaldi making his 20th start of 2026. Much like Woo, the veteran is a better pitcher than he’s shown for most of this season. Over 115.1 innings pitched, he’s accounted for a 4.21 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 122 strikeouts (9.5 K/9). Taking care of business tonight shouldn’t be too difficult for the right-hander. The Mariners are a mess offensively, putting up the third-fewest runs per game (4.03) and second-worst OPS (.686) in baseball. In addition, Seattle has posted a lackluster 23.53% YRFI rate on the road, sixth-lowest in the majors.
