Love Island UK is approaching the end of another great season. Episode 49 features a double date and continued fallout from the new bombshells.

Love Island UK Episode 49 Recap 7/16/26
This episode picked up in the aftermath of Elicia and Ethan stealing Finley and Priya from their couples. To start, Priya let Ethan know she’d be giving him a fair shot, but still getting to know Aidan. Meanwhile, Aidan let Elicia know that he plans on focusing on getting Priya back, rather than getting to know her any more.
Ellie and Elicia decided to have a debrief after Elicia stole Finley away. The girls decided that there was no bad blood between them. Ellie is upset with Finley for not being open about how things were going between Elicia and him. Finley did stick to his promise of sleeping outside, rather than with Elicia. That is the base level of what Ellie will be hoping for over the next few days.
Up next, Priya got a text that she and Ethan would be going on a double date with Finley and Elicia. Everybody was excited about this, except Aidan and Ellie. Ellie tasked Priya with being an undercover agent who could report back on how Finley was behaving with Elicia.
At the Villa
Aidan and Ellie discuss what must have been going on between Finley and Elicia for her to risk taking him in the recoupling instead of Aidan. Meanwhile, Lorenzo and Julia continue to progress as a couple. Not only are they lathering each other in sunscreen, but Lorenzo is just slightly starting to open up.
Aidan continues to explore his feelings for Priya. He is struggling with the idea of not being in the driver’s seat anymore. Meanwhile, Ellie continues to spiral over how Finley has treated her, and how rough her entire villa experience.
The Double Date
Priya and Ethan’s date seems to be going well, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that Priya seems more into Aidan. Despite that, Ethan and Priya share a nice kiss at the end of the date. Meanwhile, Finley can’t wipe the grin off his face. He seems very into Elicia, which could mean trouble for Ellie. Finley decided to give Elicia a nice kiss at the end of their date, which will cause absolute havoc back at the villa.
After the Date
The islanders split into boys and girls to recap the dates. Ethan let the boys know that he and Priya had kissed on the date. Elicia also let the girls know that she kissed Finley, which has Ellie absolutely fuming. With much stronger language than I will put in this recap, Ellie states that she does not want Finley anywhere near her. Ellie has a full-blown crash out over her anger towards Finley. Finley should stay well clear of her if he doesn’t want to be eaten alive.
Finley mistakenly grabs Ellie for a chat right away. He shares that it was a good, flirty date with a kiss at the end, all information she already knew. Finley set the barriers that he would not kiss Elicia, but directly broke those barriers that he set for himself. Despite that, Finley says that he still wants to pursue things with Ellie. She is bewildered by these comments. Ellie lets Finley know that if he wants any chance with her, he will need to cut things off with Elicia and spend a lot of time working his way back into her good books.
Ellie and Elicia are both furious at Finley. Ellie is mad at him for getting to know someone else, and Elicia is mad because he is telling Ellie that she is his focus. Elicia confronts Finley over it, and he informs her that his focus is on Ellie and they are over now. Elicia calls him out for taking the easy way out and going back to Ellie, wasting her time in the process. A group of girls gets together to talk to Finley and try to get him to realize what he’s doing wrong.
In a much happier part of the villa, Simba took Angelista to the terrace. Simba completely opened up and told Angelista that he loves her. After a rollercoaster of a Love Island experience, these two are finally in a great place. Hopefully, Simba continues on this path on the outside instead of going back to his old ways.
Just when things seemed to have settled down, Finley was lying in bed having a conversation with Elicia. Ellie stormed out of the bedroom, and a group of islanders, led by Lorenzo, checked to see if she even wanted to be with Finley anymore. Julia and Priya then called him out as he headed to sleep outside, letting him know that he just continues to make mistakes.
