The MLB All-Star game is on Tuesday, which means Monday night is the night for the 2026 Home Run Derby as both leagues send their top sluggers into the contest looking to claim the victory. Not only can you pick the overall winner, the longest home run, the hardest-hit home run, and plenty of individual props, but you can also play which league will win the derby on DraftKings Sportsbook.
The National League will be represented by Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Jordan Walker, giving the American League numerical superiority with Munetaka Murakami, Junior Caminero, Ben Rice, Willson Contreras and Jac Caglianone. In this prop, I like taking the plus-money odds and going with the long shots in the National League. It’s hard to consider them underdogs since both Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper will be playing in front of their home crowd, and they’ll surely get plenty of love from the fans. They are numerically the underdogs, though, because they have fewer players.
Schwarber is actually the betting favorite at +285, while Jordan Walker (+700) and Bryce Harper (+900) are also on this side of the prop. Harper is the only former winner in the field, and he typically steps up in big moments like this one. He won the 2018 Home Run Derby when he was with the Nationals, which was also played in his home park at that point. Ironically, he defeated Kyle Schwarber in the finals, who was then playing for the Cubs.
The experience for the two Phillies should serve them well, and the only player on the AL side of the prop who has participated in the Home Run Derby is Junior Caminero, who finished runner-up last year.
The format could erase the advantage of the AL having an extra player since there are no brackets in the first round. It’s just the top four players that move on to the next round. As long as two of the top four are NL, the numerical advantage will no longer be a factor. The semifinals and finals will be bracketed, with 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 to determine who faces off in the finals.
A dream final for fans with all kinds of drama would be teammates Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper swinging it off for Philadelphia supremacy, and I’ll be joining the home crowd with this prop, pulling for one of them or dark horse Jordan Walker to secure the win at plus money.
