MLB All-Star weekend isn’t just about today’s faces of the league — it’s also about the future. In no way is that clearer than with the upcoming MLB Draft, which in 2021, was moved to July to coincide with the Midsummer Classic festivities.

The MLB Draft also isn’t the test of patience it used to be. For decades, baseball’s draft was lightyears behind similar events for the NFL and NBA in popularity and notoriety, as the general public was not only less aware of NCAA Baseball and its players, but because the young men hearing their names called were not going to be relevant for quite some time. This is no longer the case!

Look no further than the 2024 MLB Draft. Nick Kurtz, Konnor Griffin, Travis Bazzana, Chase Burns, J.J. Wetherholt, Trey Yesavage. These aren’t simply first-round picks that have already made it to the big leagues, these are guys competing for awards and impacting World Series games. The Draft can pay immediate dividends for organizations and fans alike.

With that in mind, let’s dive into what you need to know for Saturday’s edition.
