MLB Best Bets: Top home run props for Sunday 7/05/26

Sunday’s home run board has July’s full menace: altitude, heat, leaking command, and enough plus-money barrel access to hunt. Coors supplies the obvious oxygen, with 91-degree weather turning elevated contact into a public spectacle. The sharper slate lives beyond Denver’s neon tax. Kauffman brings Aaron Nola into a Royals pocket loaded with violent contact and usable prices. Great American gives Cincinnati’s lift-and-speed chaos another small-park runway. Sutter and Dodger Stadium add late-card volatility, especially where hard contact meets pitchers allowing airborne damage. The best plays start with swing shape: recent barrels, rising launch, stable max exit velocity, and pitch paths that invite pull-side air. A taxed favorite can still clear the wall. The better hunt comes when the market leaves a mid-board bat with the full summer geometr.

As always, I’m here with a breakdown on my three favorite picks from today’s slate of games to swat one out.

Best MLB home run bets today

Best MLB home run bets todayOddsWhy I like the pick
Jac Caglianone+370Caglianone gets Nola in 84-degree Kauffman heat with six HR, 10 RBI, a .541 SLG over his last 15, nine HR and a .579 SLG over his last 30, a 93.8 mph EV, 58.5% hard-hit rate, 16.0% barrels, .373 xwOBA, .505 xwOBAcon, 37.8% sweet-spot contact, and a 3.8-degree launch-angle rise against Nola’s 6.04 ERA, .370 wOBA allowed, 10.0% barrels allowed, 40.0% hard contact allowed, and sinker/four-seam/curve mix leaking enough lift-side punishment for left-handed thunder.
Bobby Witt Jr.+370Witt sees the same damaged Nola shape with a .321 last-15 run, three HR, nine RBI, five steals, only six strikeouts, a 93.3 mph EV, 52.4% hard-hit rate, 12.6% barrels, .388 xwOBA, 38.8% sweet-spot contact, and a 16.7-degree launch angle against Nola’s .370 wOBA allowed, 10.0% barrels allowed, 40.0% hard contact allowed, 92.2 mph four-seamer, 20.9% sinker usage, and a Royals lineup pocket built to force strikes ahead of Caglianone.
Elly De La Cruz+330De La Cruz gets Bradish in 87-degree Great American heat with a .345 last-seven run, one HR, three RBI, four walks, three steals, a 94.4 mph EV, 51.9% hard-hit rate, 14.8% barrels, 36.0% sweet-spot contact, an 11.2-degree launch angle, a 3.6-degree launch rise, and a 4.5-point barrel-rate jump against Bradish’s 33.6% sinker usage, .338 wOBA allowed on the pitch, 10.8% sinker barrels, and a Cincinnati park shape that rewards pulled airborne violence.

In-depth analysis below.

Top MLB home run props today: analysis

Jac Caglianone to hit a home run (+370)

Caglianone owns Sunday’s cleanest blend of force, price, and matchup permission. The surface form carries tension, which helps the number stay playable. He is 4-for-27 with no homers, no RBI, and 10 strikeouts over his last seven games, but the larger window still screams power renewal: six HR, 10 RBI, and a .541 SLG over his last 15, plus nine HR, 19 RBI, 11 walks, and a .579 SLG over his last 30. That is the exact profile to buy when a three-game lull hides the thunder.

The batted-ball card is still absurd: 93.8 mph EV, 58.5% hard-hit, 16.0% barrel, .373 xwOBA, .505 xwOBAcon, 37.8% sweet spot, and a 3.8-degree launch-angle jump. Nola gives that swing a runway. He enters at 3-5 with a 6.04 ERA, 87 strikeouts, a .370 wOBA allowed, 10.0% barrel rate, and 40.0% hard-hit rate. His six-pitch mix now leans on curveballs, sinkers, and 92.2 mph four-seamers, with the sinker sitting at 20.9% usage. Caglianone’s left-handed lift can turn that leaking command into one loud correction.

Bobby Witt Jr. to hit a home run (+370)

A double-shot of Royal today, at the exact same price! Witt is the board’s most elegant mispricing among elite bats. His last seven games show a choppy .192 average, but the damage remains intact: two HR, four RBI, four runs, and a .462 SLG. His last 15 are even cleaner for HR bettors: .321/.381/.536, three HR, nine RBI, five steals, and only six strikeouts across 56 at-bats. That means the current swing still carries contact discipline, speed pressure, and enough slug to punish one mistake.

The impact metrics put him in the top row of today’s non-taxed bats: 93.3 mph EV, 52.4% hard-hit, 12.6% barrel, .388 xwOBA, 38.8% sweet spot, and a 16.7-degree average launch angle. The shape is beautifully balanced. Caglianone is the rawer violence; Witt is the cleaner all-field punishment. Nola’s current version gives both Royals paths. His .370 wOBA allowed and 10.0% barrel rate erase the old comfort of his name, and his sinker/four-seam/curve foundation gives Witt multiple hard-contact entry points. At +402, Witt offers top-tier swing quality at a price closer to the second shelf.

Elly De La Cruz to hit a home run (+330)

De La Cruz brings the loudest athletic violence on the board, and his recent form has the right kind of pulse. He is 10-for-29 over his last seven with a homer, three RBI, four walks, three steals, a .345 average, and a .424 OBP. The last 15 are quieter at .246 with one HR, but the last 30 still show three HR, 13 RBI, 12 walks, five steals, and 34 hits. The swing is not empty spectacle. It is active, irritating, and constantly dragging pitchers into damage counts.

The power markers are exactly where they need to be: 94.4 mph EV, 51.9% hard-hit, 14.8% barrel, 36.0% sweet spot, and an 11.2-degree average launch angle. The key improvement is shape. His launch angle is up 3.6 degrees, while his barrel rate is up 4.5 points and hard-hit rate is up 7.7 points. Great American Ball Park adds the final acceleration chamber. Bradish is a better pitcher than Nola, but his sinker is already 33.6% of the mix, and that pitch has allowed a .338 wOBA with a 10.8% barrel rate. Elly’s leadoff volume and rising lift make him a premium board shape.
