All but one series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs’ conference semifinal round are settled. The only one that isn’t sees the Montreal Canadiens primed to close out an Atlantic Division rival as the Buffalo Sabres look to fend off elimination on the road. This should be a good one at 8 p.m. ET, especially given the track record of the series so far.

Best NHL player prop bets for Saturday 5/16/26
Alex Tuch over 2.5 shots on goal (+100)
The Sabres are backed into a corner as they head into Montreal trying to keep their season alive, so I fully expect an aggressive effort in Game 6 of this series. Veteran winger Alex Tuch is tied for third on the team in points during this playoff run with four goals, knotted for the team lead. His 37 shots on goal are what we’re after though, especially since he’s just one behind Rasmus Dahlin for first on the roster in the stat. Tuch has put a grand total of 17 pucks on the net in five games of this series so far, good for an average of 3.4 per outing. That comfortably clears this line of 2.5, but there’s a little more reason to feel good about this prop bet. Tuch also has over 2.5 shots on goal in three of the five games against the Canadiens so far, plus seven of his 11 postseason outings in 2026. They may not be the highest-quality looks if desperation sets in, but watch for him to take at least three chances on Saturday.
Jakub Dobes over 25.5 saves (-110)
The Canadiens’ young netminder has been a hero this postseason, no doubt about it. Jakub Dobes is just a rookie and in his first run through the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but he’s showed plenty of poise between the posts. The 24-year-old posted a .901 SV% in the regular season with a 2.78 GAA. Those same marks in the postseason? They sit at .914 and 2.28 despite facing two of the most exciting offenses in the NHL. It’s been a performance to remember for the rookie. In this series, he’s stopped 118-of-131 shots (.901) across five games, good for an average of 23.6 saves per game. He’s also gone over 25.5 saves in three of those five appearances, and with Buffalo desperate to keep the season alive, there should be plenty of shot volume today. Dobes can certainly go over this prop line to close the series out in Montreal.
