Two flyweights, Alessandro Costa vs. Stewart Nicoll, face off on tonight’s UFC Fight Night Prelims. Costa is 14-5 with 11 finishes but is attempting to get back in the win column for the first time since May 2024. Nicoll is also coming off a loss and is 8-2 with seven wins by knockout or submission. The Prelims for this event begin at 5:00 p.m. ET and will air on Paramount+.

Fight to Not Go The Distance (-145)
Although Nicoll is one inch taller (5’5″ vs. 5’4″), Costa has a two-inch edge in standing reach (67″ vs. 65″). On the feet, Nicoll has the advantage as he lands over two more takedowns per 15 minutes than Costa does. But Costa has an impressive 83 percent takedown defense. This fight favors Costa in the striking department as he averages more significant strikes per minute (3.64 vs. 3.00) at a higher rate (44% vs. 34%).
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Costa is a -425 favorite with Nicoll being the underdog at +330. Five of Costa’s last six fights have ended by knockout. Before Nicoll’s recent decision loss, his previous five fights ended by submission or knockout. That is why I’m taking this fight to not go the distance at -145. Costa and Nicoll should both be motivated to win impressively after their losses.
