Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+179): Schwarber and the Phillies are in Denver for the first game of the year at Coors Field. Schwarber will take on new Rockies starter Michael Lorenzen, and the public is expecting another Schwarbomb. Shwarber has two homers on the year, one on Opening Day and another last Tuesday against his former team, the Nationals. Schwarber has a 58.3% hard-hit rate and 33.3% barrel rate in the early going this season, and should be ready to go in the rarified air of Coors Field. In his career, he has made 20 starts and hit eight home runs in his 77 at-bats. He has a .946 OPS at Coors Field and is 9-for-24 (.375) with three doubles and two homers in his career against Lorenzen. Even though the weather will be a little chilly and the wind will be blowing in, it’s still a great spot to back Schwarber for a blast.
Cal Raleigh 1+ Home Run (+268): The public is also in on Big Dumper going yard for the first time this season. After crushing 60 homers last season, the Mariners 29-year-old switch-hitter is just 4-for-25 (.160) with a double, three walks, and 15 strikeouts. Raleigh and the Mariners are on the road in one of the five-night games on Friday, taking on the Angels and lefty Reid Detmers in Anaheim. Raleigh had a 1.032 OPS against lefties and hit 32 of his 60 homers on the road. Raleigh has homered off Detmers in the past, but is just 2-for-12 in their past meetings.
Shea Langeliers 1+ Home Run (+262): Langeliers rounds out the trio of beefy home run hitters the public is backing. These three players wouldn’t win many foot races, but they do pack plenty of power. Langeliers leads the majors with five homers on the season in his first six games. BANGeliers has a 25% barrel rate and a 43.8% hard-hit rate while going 9-for-24 (.375) in his first six games, all on the road. For Friday’s matchup, he’ll be at home for the first time this season as he faces Cristian Javier and the Astros. Langeliers hit 31 homers last year and is off to a faster start this year, and playing at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park makes him a great target for Friday night.
