- Kansas City Royals: Kris Bubic

Woods Richardson had a bumpy Spring Training but earned his spot in the rotation over Zebby Matthews. He’ll look to build on his solid 3.79 xERA from last season. Bubic was one of the Royals best starters last season with a 2.55 ERA, a 3.17 xERA and an 8.9 K/9 through 116.1 IP.
Texas Rangers vs. Baltimore Orioles Probable Pitchers

The No. 2 overall pick in 2021, Leiter showed improvement in his strikeouts (8.7) and lowered his walks (3.9) in 2025. He’ll oppose Bassitt, who joins his second AL East team after spending the last three years in Toronto.
Washington Nationals vs. Miami Marlins Probable Pitchers

Griffin pitches in the MLB for the first time since 2022. He spent time in Japan and posted a 1.78 ERA with a 1.78 FIP through 78 innings in 2025. He’ll oppose Walker, who allowed nine runs (six earned) on 13 hits with 10 strikeouts in 17.1 IP against the Nationals last year.
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds Probable Pitchers

Ashcraft was mostly a reliever last year but did make eight starts for PIT last season. He’ll face Burns, who has tremendous strikeout upside and sported a 13.9 K/9 through 43.1 innings last year.
Chicago White Sox vs. Miami Marlins Probable Pitchers

Davis’ numbers didn’t properly tell his story last year, as his 4.10 ERA was accompanied by an ugly 5.11 xERA. He’ll take on Paddack, who also had an ERA over 5 across 158 innings.
Colorado Rockies vs. Toronto Blue Jays Probable Pitchers

Sugano landed in Colorado after one season in Baltimore. He has limited strikeout upside and posted an xERA of 5.79. Ponce has bounced from Japan and the KBO recently. His limited time in the majors has not produced success with a 5.86 ERA and a 5.28 xERA in 55.1 innings.

Lopez brings strong strikeout upside (10.9 K/9 last season) but can quickly lose his command. He’ll take on Elder, who had a 6.55 ERA and 12 of the 24 home runs he allowed at home last season.

In his first full season in the rotation, Holmes’ K/9 dropped to a career-low of 7.1. Leahy will make just his second career start in the majors after making 61 appearances out of the bullpen last season.

Weathers had a new career-high in swings-and-misses, generating them at a rate of 13.2%. Castillo, meanwhile, had his lowest K/9 of his career at 8.01 last year and his second straight season with an xERA over 4.
San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres Probable Pitchers

Roupp struggled on the road last season where he allowed 10 of 11 home runs on the season. Buehler is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career while ending with an xERA of 5.39.

Messick only threw 39.2 innings in his rookie year but produced a 2.72 ERA with a 3.06 xERA and an 8.6 K/9. Sasaki missed most of 2025 due to injury and was rocked through 8.2 innings in Spring Training, allowing 15 runs on nine hits in 8.2 innings.
Detroit Tigers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Probable Pitchers

- Arizona Diamondbacks: Mike Soroka

At 43 years old, Verlander is still throwing the ball well, posting a 3.85 ERA with an xERA of 4.24 and an 8.1 K/9 through 152 innings with the Giants last season. Soroka is hoping to be luckier than he was last year, as his 3.53 xERA was a run lower than his 4.52 ERA.
