The promotion is fairly simple –– place a $5 bet NHL first goalscorer bet, and if the player you bet on scores the quickest goal of the 7:00 p.m. ET slate, you win a share of $250,000 in bonus bets.

NHL Ice Breaker Pick for Thursday, March 26

There are six 7:00 p.m. ET games to choose from; however, there’s a good chance that Guentzel still ends up a relatively chalky play. No team has scored more 5v5 goals this month than the Lightning, and no team has allowed more 5v5 goals than the Kraken. The 31-year-old has logged second-line minutes for much of the season, and he has netted 32 goals, with 19 of them coming while playing at home.
Of those 32 goals, 11 have been scored in the first period. On the season, Seattle has allowed the 11th-most first-period goals, and since the new year, it has allowed the fifth-most first-period goals. Seattle is in the middle of a six-game road trip, and it has started Joey Daccord in each of its past three outings. During that span, the Kraken have allowed an average of 4.3 goals per game. Even if the Kraken roll with Philipp Grubauer between the pipes, this Lightning team has been a wagon, ranking second in 5v5 goals per 60 and fifth in total first-period goals.
