MLB Opening Day is almost upon us, and we’ve got so many player futures to take in. Why not start with the best hitter in baseball? Aaron Judge won his third American League MVP this past season. The New York Yankees slugger is showing no signs of slowing down heading into his age-34 season. How can we bet on his success this season? Let’s dig into his player futures for the 2026 MLB regular season.
Best Aaron Judge Future
Season Long Batting Average Over 0.291 (-110)
Futures can be tricky. When you’re tying up your balance in a months-long bet, you want good value out of it. That tends to skew futures bets towards long-shot bets. But when you’re talking about someone like Judge, long shots are tougher to find. Betting on him to get 50+ home runs or 100+ RBIs holds little value because, of course, he’s going to do that. That’s more or less a bet on a 34-year-old center fielder to stay healthy for an entire season, which is neither exciting nor smart, in my opinion.
Batting average is where the value lands. For one, it’s more or less injury-proof, since it’s not a counting stat. There is no games/at-bats minimum for the prop, so if Judge goes 2-for-5 on Opening Day and then disappears in a puff of smoke, you’ve still got a winner.
But it’s also an incredible value due to his talents. Over his last four seasons, Judge is batting .311 in over 2,500 at-bats. He has cleared the .311 mark in three of those four years (all MVP campaigns). Last year, he truly upped his game, winning the American League batting title with a .331 average. He doesn’t look like he has lost a step in spring training either.
Even if Judge regresses from his otherworldly 2025 campaign, there’s a large buffer between .331 and .291. Our oddsmakers think this is a coin flip, so they set it at -110. I don’t buy that at all; even a declining Judge is going to sleepwalk to a .300 average. If you’re willing to tie up a good chunk of your balance in a future, this is the investment to make.
