The Miami Open is one of the best tennis tournaments of the year. On Sunday, there is great Round of 32 action on both the men’s and women’s sides of the tournament.
These are my Miami Open best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s matches.
Miami Open Best Bets
Taylor Fritz vs. Reilly Opelka: Reilly Opelka +2.5 Games (-135)
These two Americans are facing off for the seventh time since 2018. Taylor Fritz had his best-ever finish at the Miami Open last year, making it to the semifinals. As a former Indian Wells champion, it would be special for Taylor Fritz to complete the Sunshine Double. Fritz has not had his best stuff so far this year, getting bounced in the fourth round of the Australian Open and going out in the Round of 32 at Indian Wells. At Indian Wells, Fritz lost to a fellow American who is much lower-ranked than him, Alex Michelsen. Now, he faces the same scenario in Miami against Reilly Opelka.
My best bet is on Opelka to keep it within 2.5 games against Taylor Fritz. Opelka has been great at this Miami Open so far. He defeated Nuno Borges in a tough Round of 128 matchup, then took down Jack Draper in the Round of 64. The big American is now looking to take down his compatriot in a stunning upset. In the six career matches between them, Opelka has only won once. That win came back in 2019. These two have actually not played each other since 2021. Since then, Fritz has risen to be a top-10 player in the world. It will be a tough test for Opelka, but he is riding a high coming into this match, while Fritz is not playing his best. Opelka might not pull off the upset, but he has a real chance to steal a set and push Fritz deep into sets. That should allow him to cover this game spread.
Aryna Sabalenka vs. Caty McNally: Sabalenka/McNally u17.5 Games (-135)
There is likely a demolition coming for Caty McNally on Sunday. McNally has done an amazing job to win two matches, including upsetting Xinyu Wang to advance to the Round of 32. However, McNally stands no chance against Aryna Sabalenka. While Sabalenka has had her issues in finals over the years, she has done a great job of not getting upset in spots like this. Not only does she not get upset, she typically lays the hammer. McNally ranks 72nd in the WTA rankings and will struggle in this match.
The last time McNally faced a highly ranked player was against Victoria Mboko at the Australian Open, where she lost 6-4, 6-3. At last year’s US Open, McNally lost 6-2, 6-1 to Emma Navarro. Those players beat McNally handily and they are not on the same level as Sabalenka. Last year, Sabalenka won the Miami Open and didn’t drop a set the entire tournament. Three of her six matches were also settled in under 17.5 games. In this match, McNally is likely to only win around two games per set. That will keep the games under this total for this match.
