A potential NBA League Pass classic is on the board for Monday night, as the shorthanded Brooklyn Nets host what’s left of the Memphis Grizzlies at the Barclays Center.
The Grizzlies (23–39, 11th West) have lost 10 of their last 13 games — including three straight — and trudge into the boroughs with 10 players listed either out or doubtful. The Nets (16–47, 13th East) miraculously snapped a 10-game skid by conquering the conference-best Pistons in Detroit on Saturday — though they head into Monday’s contest without offensive lifeline Michael Porter Jr.
Here’s a look at the Injury Report:
Memphis Grizzlies
- OUT: Ja Morant (Elbow), Santi Aldama (Knee), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Finger), Zach Edey (Ankle), Brandon Clarke (Calf), Taj Gibson (Reconditioning)
- DOUBTFUL: Cedric Coward (Knee), Ty Jerome (Calf), Taylor Hendricks (Thumb), Scotty Pippen Jr. (Toe)
Brooklyn Nets
- OUT: Michael Porter Jr. (Rest), Egor Demin (Plantar Fascia)
Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Memphis enters as a narrow 1.5-point road favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, while Brooklyn sits as a +105 underdog. The game’s total is set at 232.5 points.
Grizzlies vs. Nets Preview
Memphis Grizzlies Preview
Ja Morant’s out. So is Santi Aldama. As are Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke, and Taj Gibson. Memphis isn’t banking on Cedric Coward, Ty Jerome, Taylor Hendricks, or Scotty Pippen Jr. suiting up, either. Oh, and let’s not forget that Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jock Landale are gone, too.
All of which begs the question: Who exactly is playing for the Grizzlies on Monday night?
Young guys. Lots of them.
Memphis is expected to roll out a lineup composed almost entirely of players 23 or younger. Most notably, forwards GG Jackson, Jaylen Wells, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper — each averaging more than 13 points per game since the trade deadline — should carry much of the scoring load. Rookie guard Walter Clayton Jr., acquired from the Jazz, will likely run the backcourt after averaging a team-high 6.8 assists since arriving in Memphis.
Brooklyn Nets Preview
It’s been a tale of two cities along Brooklyn’s Flatbush Avenue. Earlier this week, Rod Strickland’s Long Island University Sharks became the first team to punch a ticket to the NCAA Tournament. But just a few blocks away, the Nets have been serving up some of the most dreadful hoops in the NBA.
Brooklyn has mustered just six wins since the start of 2026 — the fewest in the NBA — while ranking dead last in both offensive and net rating. Although the Nets stunned the Pistons in Detroit on Saturday, that victory followed a 10-game losing streak. Now, they return home without their only reliable scorer.
Michael Porter Jr., who averages 24.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, is scheduled to rest during Monday’s contest. The Nets are just 2–10 without him this season, a brutal mark that includes a 103–98 loss in Memphis on Jan. 11.
In Porter’s absence, Brooklyn will likely bank on their developing frontcourt, Noah Clowney and Nic Claxton, neither of whom averages more than 13 points per game.
Grizzlies vs. Nets Pick, Best Bet
It speaks volumes that Memphis could be missing up to 10 players and still be favored to beat the Nets. Without Michael Porter Jr., Brooklyn is a borderline JV squad — a beleaguered team that even the depleted Grizzlies roster should handle. Expect another predictable home loss for the Nets at Barclays Center.
