How to Play Florida’s Pick 4
Playing the Florida Lottery’s Pick 4 is easier than you think. Pick four (4) numbers between 0-9. Try your lucky ones or use Quick Pick on the Jackpocket app for randomly generated numbers. To win the top prize of $5,000, match 4 of 4 numbers in the order they’re drawn. When playing Pick 4, this is considered a Straight.
Pick 4 isn’t like other lottery draw games, such as Powerball or Mega Millions. When learning how to play Pick 4 in the Florida lottery, it’s important to know there are several ways to win.
With Box, you win when your numbers match, but it doesn’t have to be in the order they’re drawn in. For example, let’s say you play 0-2-6-9. During the draw, the balls come out as 6-2-0-9. Even though they were drawn in a different order, you still win!
Then there are variations of Box you can play:
- Box 4-way means you select three of the same number and one different number. An example would be 1-1-1-3. You win if these numbers are drawn. It doesn’t matter what order they are drawn in.
- To play Box 6-way, select two pairs of identical numbers. For example, 2-2 and 5-5. You win if these numbers are drawn in any order.
- Box 12-way requires you to pick one pair of numbers and two different numbers. An example would be 7-7-3-1. Again, you win when matching these numbers drawn in any order.
- Box 24-way lets you select four different numbers (there can be no duplicates), and you win when these numbers are drawn in any order.
The 4-way play costs $2 and goes up from there, so you could spend between $2 and $24 for your 4-way ticket. It just depends on the option you choose to play!
Then there’s the Straight/Box. This is a combination of Straight and Box, where you are betting on both options, so you’re a winner either way! This option helps your odds. This is known as 50/50 on the app.
Straight/Box combines with 4-way, 6-way, 12-way and 24-way as described above. You win whether the numbers are drawn in the same order or not.
Another way to play is with pairs. These options are not available with Jackpocket (yet!), but we wanted you to know all the ways you can get in on the action. Choose between Front Pair, Mid Pair and Back Pair. Select only two numbers instead of four and choose either the first two numbers, the middle two numbers or the last two numbers. If your numbers match the order drawn in the game, you win!
What is FIREBALL?

The FIREBALL number is drawn following the PICK Daily Games™ drawings and can be used to replace any number drawn, giving you an extra chance to create more winning combinations. Adding FIREBALL doubles the price of your base play ticket and applies to all four number picks.

How do you claim a Pick 4 prize?
The Florida Pick 4 drawings are held twice daily, seven days per week, at approximately 1:30 PM and 9:45 PM, ET.
