Texas A&M Aggies vs. Florida Gators prediction, pick for NCAAM on Saturday 2/07/26

Saturday night in College Station is a table-setter for the top of the SEC, not just another ranked-vs-ranked box. Florida has been playing like a contender, and it just punked Alabama by twenty-three. Texas A&M is 17–5 and 7–2 in league play, and the home floor at Reed Arena turns scoring runs into stampedes. The board is asking Florida to prove it can separate in a hostile sprint. That’s a different exam than bullying a tired opponent at home. Below is my preview, prediction, and pick for tonight’s college basketball game between the Texas A&M Aggies and the Florida Gators.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Texas A&M vs. Florida prediction, preview

The tempo math alone explains why this game lives in the high-160s. Texas A&M plays at 77.1 possessions per game, and Florida sits at 74.1, so the floor of opportunities is huge. The efficiency is huge, too. Florida owns a 56.8% eFG, and Texas A&M is right there at 57.0%, so both teams can score without needing circus threes. The difference is on the other end. Florida holds opponents to 46.8% eFG, while Texas A&M allows 52.2%, and that’s the gap between good offense and clean offense all night.

Florida’s last performance was a national-level flex. Alex Condon just went for 25 points, seven boards, and six assists against Alabama Crimson Tide, then got tagged SEC Player of the Week. Thomas Haugh added 22 in that same blowout, and Boogie Fland stacked 15 points with eight assists and eight steals while Florida committed only two turnovers. Rueben Chinyelu cleaned the glass with 14 points and 17 rebounds, which is exactly how Florida’s margin becomes real. Texas A&M’s headline is different, but it’s just as March-relevant: Rashaun Agee is producing double-double gravity and just dropped 21 in the 100–97 track meet at Alabama. Marcus Hill chipped in 18, and Rylan Griffen had 17 and a final-shot look to tie.

This matchup is really a possession war disguised as a shooting contest. Florida is No. 2 nationally in offensive rebounding rate at 38.4%, and Texas A&M is also elite at 35.6%, so misses often become points anyway. The whistle lane is live on both sides, too. Florida’s FTA/FGA is 0.398, Texas A&M’s is 0.397, and both teams can stack points without needing perfect halfcourt execution. The three-point clash is the swingy part: Texas A&M shoots 38.8% from three, but Florida defends the arc at 30.2% allowed. Florida doesn’t need to win the three math to score, because it can win the paint and the glass, but Texas A&M only needs one heater to keep the margin tight.

Florida vs. Texas A&M pick, best bet

Florida is No. 1 in rebounds per game (46.0) and No. 2 in offensive rebounding rate (43.2%), which is basically a second-possession generator stapled to every miss. That’s terrifying against an A&M team that commits 19.6 fouls per game (No. 315), because second chances turn into body contact, and body contact turns into free points. Florida also gets to the line at 25.8 FTA per game (No. 19), so a whistle-tilt game can hand the favorite an easy margin. The refutation is that A&M has enough keep-it-close levers to survive that storm. The Aggies play faster, they create more live-ball mistakes, and they can erase mini-runs with threes because they take 30.9 attempts from deep (No. 13) and hit 37.6% (No. 28). Florida’s own three-point shooting sits at 28.9% (No. 350), so it’s not built to trade bombs for bombs if A&M catches a heater. And late, the free-throw difference matters in a one- or two-possession spread: A&M shoots 75.4% at the line, while Florida sits at 69.9%.

I’m taking Texas A&M +6.5 (-105). The cover path is bankable: play at 77.1 possessions, win a slice of the turnover battle with 8.9 steals per game, and keep the shot volume high with 64.5 attempts and 11.6 made threes. Florida can still win, but this number asks for separation against an offense scoring 92.0 points per game with elite spacing volume. I expect a loud, fast game where Florida’s boards show up, but A&M’s threes and ball movement keep the margin honest.

Florida 88, Texas A&M 85.

Best bet: Texas A&M +6.5 (-105) vs. Florida
