New York Knicks wing Josh Hart suffered an apparent injury during Friday’s game vs. the Detroit Pistons and is in the locker room.
It’s likely an ankle injury for Hart, who has dealt with similar issues in recent weeks and was limping before he left the floor. With the Knicks trailing by nearly 30 just before the end of the third quarter, he checked out and went back to the locker room.
He does not currently have an official injury designation.
Hart played 25 minutes in Friday’s game, recording five points, an assist and six rebounds.
Hart, 30 years old, has struggled with injuries throughout much of the campaign. He’s appeared in 39 of 51 possible contests but has largely played through some nagging issues. When available though, he has played well with 12.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Hart’s 40.5% mark from three is also the best of his last three years, albeit on low volume.
The Knicks are 33-18 on the season and rode an eight-game winning streak into tonight’s game against the Pistons. Barring an incredible comeback, they’ll likely fall to third in the Eastern Conference (assuming the Boston Celtics win tonight as well).
