The second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final between Man City and Newcastle will take place on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens are taking a two-goal advantage into this game after beating the Magpies 2-0 in the first leg.

City are -130 moneyline favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s game, with a draw available at +280. Fancy a Newcastle upset? The Magpies are +300 on the moneyline. The game is slated to kick off at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Man City vs. Newcastle Prediction, Pick

For this bet to hit, we need Newcastle to win the game. If it ends in a draw, the bet will void. While I still think Man City will advance to the Carabao Cup Final, I don’t believe Newcastle will lose this game.

Trailing by two goals, the onus will be on them to attack and get back into this semi-final. If this were a one-goal lead, I wouldn’t be as confident, but Man City really doesn’t need to win the game. They just need to manage it and get a goal if it comes. I could see Newcastle either drawing this or getting a one-goal win, which in turn would still book City a spot at Wembley.

Neither of these teams are in great form at the moment. Man City blew a two-goal lead at the weekend to Tottenham and have only won two of their five games in all competitions since the first leg of this semi-final. Things have been even worse for Newcastle, as they suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against Liverpool at the weekend and have won only one of their five games since the last time these teams met up.

Both teams are in bad form, but I think this can be a get-right game for the Magpies. It may not be good enough to get them to Wembley, but I think them being down in this semi-final by multiple goals presents a unique opportunity for this bet to hit, as City don’t really need to go for the win.

The Pick: Newcastle Tie No Bet (+210)
