The NBA schedule is a little light this Monday with just three games on the scoreboard this evening. However, Peacock still has a solid doubleheader that wraps up with a nice nonconference matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the LA Clippers at the Intiut Dome in Inglewood, California. Each side of this contest brings some fascinating storylines and solid players to cheer for, so let’s break down the matchup and find some 76ers-Clippers player prop bets to include on your betting card this Monday night.
In the big picture, the Clippers are 1.5-point home favorites with the point total at 220.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Clippers are playing for a second day in a row, and on Sunday, they were without James Harden due to a personal matter. The team’s injury report will be critical to watch for since Harden could miss another game or the team could rest other stars.
Even without Harden, the Clip ship sailed to victory on Sunday, beating the Suns, 117-93. The Clippers have won 10 of their last 12 games and are 23-25, climbing to the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference after their brutal start to the season. On the other side, the Sixers are the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference at 27-21. They’ve won three straight games at home but will head on the road for their next five games out West, starting with this matchup on Monday. The 76ers lost Paul George to suspension earlier this week, but listed Joel Embiid as probable and Kelly Oubre Jr. as available for this contest.
Let’s take a look at the top player prop bets from both the 76ers and Clippers in this Monday night matchup. These picks can be used as standalone plays or combined in a Same Game Parlay (SGP), as indicated at the bottom of the post.
76ers at Clippers Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Joel Embiid O28.5 Points (-108)
I highlighted Embiid in my three must-start players for Monday’s DFS fantasy basketball slate, and the big man’s points prop is still very solid at 28.5 with almost even money on both sides of that line. Embiid has looked so strong and productive lately that I’m ready to take him to score at least 29 points on Monday night, taking advantage of the Clippers potentially dealing with fatigue playing for the second day in a row.
Embiid has gone over this prop line in seven straight games and is coming off a 40-point performance on Saturday in his first game without Paul George after his suspension. The 31-year-old is averaging 26.2 points in 31 minutes per game on the season, but he has ramped that up to 34.1 points in 36.0 minutes per game over his last seven.
The Sixers listed Embiid as probable for this matchup, and the team seems ready to let Embiid play more minutes and see how much gas he has in the tank before he breaks down. He’s looked back to peak form over the last few weeks, and I think he’ll keep feasting on Monday night on the West Coast.
Kawhi Leonard O34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115)
Without an injury report, it’s hard to be too certain of anything with the Clippers, but in almost every scenario, Kawhi will get enough work to deliver over this PRA (points, rebounds and assists) line. I picked him yesterday in my Clippers-Suns props and he delivered with 38 PRA in his team’s comfortable win. He ended up with 25 points, five assists and eight boards in 30 minutes.
Kawhi has gone over this PRA line in six of his last nine games, and he will pick up more work if Harden misses a second straight game. He could end up getting the night off himself, since he hasn’t played back-to-back games since before his latest injury. When he did play back-to-back games early in January, he had 35 PRA in a low-scoring game against the Pistons.
While his workload isn’t exactly locked in until the injury report comes out, he could end up with huge usage, and this number could definitely climb. It’s a solid spot to attack for now, while keeping an eye out for updates as we get closer to tip-off.
Kelly Oubre Jr. O18.5 Points + Rebounds (-103)
Without George, Oubre will be one of the wings who has a chance to step into more usage for the Sixers. Oubre has been limited to 26 games this season by his own injury issues, and his role has fluctuated as other players have moved in and out of the rotation. He moved back into the starting five in mid-January and has averaged 15.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in 32.8 minutes per game since returning to the lineup.
Oubre had 19 points and 10 boards to go well over this prop line on Saturday against the Pelicans in his first game after George’s suspension. He has gone over this prop line in six of his eight games since moving into the lineup and should be able to get at least 19 points and rebounds again on Monday.
The Clippers do a good job of defending wings, but Oubre still brings enough potential scoring and rebounding to make this a good prop.
Bonus Parlay Pick: Jared McCain O5.5 Points (-128)
If you’re building an SGP (Same Game Parlay) from this final game of the night, adding in the over on McCain’s points increases these odds to a spicy +1100.
McCain had his impressive rookie season cut short due to injury and has had a limited role this season, averaging only 6.8 points per game. He has found some rhythm lately, though, and should be able to get more run in the rotation without PG. McCain has played at least 15 minutes in each of his last four games, scoring at least 12 points in three of those four games and averaging 12.3 points per game. He got some run in the G League just over a week ago, and it seems to have jump-started his offense. If you want a longshot play, getting McCain for 12+ points at +462 is an interesting flier play, but for parlay purposes, I’m keeping it straightforward at just the over on his points line.
