Saturday night, boxing is back in the Big Apple at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. Two of the biggest stars in the sport, Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson, will face off for Lopez’s WBO Super Lightweight title. This event is titled “Ring 6” as it is the Ring Magazine’s sixth boxing card they put on. Over the years, MSG has hosted many legendary boxing events, including The Fight of the Century, Lennox Lewis vs. Evander Holyfield, and Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, among others.
Lopez and Stevenson have many similarities, which should make this a fantastic fight. Stevenson and Lopez are both from the tristate area; Lopez is from Newark, New Jersey, and Stevenson is from Brooklyn, New York. Also, both fighters are currently 28 years old. But Stevenson has something Lopez doesn’t: an undefeated record. Stevenson is 24-0 with 11 knockouts, as Lopez is 22-1 and has 13 wins by knockout. Stevenson is the current WBC Lightweight title holder but is moving up to 140 pounds to become a four-division world champion.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Stevenson is a -300 favorite with Lopez being the underdog at +230. The over of 10.5 rounds is set at -800. Stevenson is -200 to win by decision or technical decision, while Lopez is +380 via decision.
The second Championship fight on this card is Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington vs. Carlos Castro for the WBC Featherweight title. Carrington, 28, has a perfect 16-0 undefeated record with nine knockouts and last beat Mateus Heita in July 2025. Castro is 30-3 with 14 knockouts and hasn’t fought since he lost his last fight against Stephon Fulton in September 2024. Carrington is a big -1000 favorite with Castro being a +600 underdog.
The WBC Middleweight Champion Carlos Adames was scheduled to defend his title against Austin Williams on this card. But on Friday, The Ring Magazine reported that Adames has withdrawn from this bout due to illness. Williams is trying to stay on this card, but it is currently unknown if they can find a replacement fighter.
Keyshawn Davis is moving up to Super Lightweight to take on Jamaine Ortiz in a 12-round contest. Davis, 26, has an undefeated record of 13-0 with nine knockouts and is a former WBO Lightweight Champion. But Davis is coming off a long layoff as he hasn’t fought since February 2025. He is facing Ortiz, a former title challenger who has won three straight bouts. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Davis is a -700 favorite with Ortiz as a +450 underdog.
