The UFC is back in the land down under, Sydney, Australia, for their next premium live event, UFC 325 on January 31. This event is taking place at the Qudos Bank Arena and will air live on Paramount+ at 9:00 p.m. ET. Australia’s own, Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski, is returning home to defend his Featherweight title against Diego Lopes in a rematch from UFC 314. Throughout this card, there are 10 fighters from Australia.
Nine months after recapturing the 145-pound title, Volkanovski returns to the Octagon for a rematch against Lopes, whom he beat in his previous fight on April 12, 2025. For some, rematches might seem uncommon, but not for Volkanovski. Volkanovski has had 10 consecutive title fights, with three being against one opponent (Max Holloway) and two against another (Islam Makhachev).
Volkanovski is 37 years old, but the “Great” one still has more to achieve. If Volkanovski defeats Lopes for the second time at UFC 325, he would tie Jose Aldo for the most title fight wins in UFC Featherweight division history with eight. Volkanovski would also tie Randy Couture and Israel Adesanya for the sixth most title wins in UFC history.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Volkanovski is a -148 favorite with the challenger being a +124 underdog. This fight is +100 to go the distance and -130 to not go the distance. The over/under is set at 4.5 rounds with both being -115.
The co-main event features an exciting Lightweight contest between No. 6 Dan Hooker vs. No. 8 Benoit Saint Denis. BSD had a resurgence in 2025, winning three consecutive fights by submission or knockout. Hooker is returning just two months after his previous fight against Arman Tsarukyan, which he lost via submission. Hooker is a +250 underdog while Saint Denis is the -310 betting favorite.
The first of two Lightweight bouts on the UFC 325 Main Card sees No. 9 Rafael Fiziev take on No. 14 Mauricio Ruffy. Fiziev is coming off a victory over Ignacio Bahamondes, as Ruffy’s winning streak came to an end against Saint Denis in September 2025. Ruffy is still a part of the Fighting Nerds MMA team, but has spent a ton of time at City Kickboxing for this fight camp. Ruffy is a -120 favorite with Fiziev being a slight +100 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Australia’s own “Bam Bam” Tai Tuivasa returns after 17 months away from the sport against No. 15 Tallison Teixeira. From October 2020 to December 2022, Tuivasa won five consecutive bouts, all coming by a knockout in the first or second round. But now Tuivasa has suffered five straight defeats and is in a must-win situation at UFC 325. His opponent, Teixeira, lost to Derrick Lewis in his previous contest, but won the first eight of his career before that. With two heavy-handed heavyweights, a knockout is extremely likely in this one. Teixeira is -345 while Tuivasa is a +275 underdog in this matchup.
The largest favorite on this card is Quillan Salkilld, who is -1050 with his opponent Jamie Mullarkey being a +675 underdog. Salkilld entered the UFC in February 2025 and has gone 3-0 in the promotion with two first-round knockouts. Mullarkey has been in the UFC since 2019 and is coming off a September 2025 win over Rolando Bedoya.
