Though the NFL has taken precedence in the sports calendar throughout January, that doesn’t mean there aren’t great games in the NBA, which has reached the midpoint of its regular season. Tonight, the 8 p.m. ET Peacock battle between the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder and the second-seeded San Antonio Spurs will take center stage, but there are seven games in total, and five of them will be played between two teams that would be in either the playoff or Play-In Tournament picture if the season ended today.
Because it’s a Tuesday, DraftKings is also running its King of the Court promotion. If users opt into the contest and use their King of the Court token on a player prop bet with -200 or longer odds, that bet will become an eligible entrant to the contest. Any user who used their token on the player who finishes with the most combined points, rebounds, and assists tonight will receive a share of $1 million in bonus bets to be paid out the next day, proportional to the number of users who used their token on the player.
The bet doesn’t have to hit: for instance, if a user bets on the Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama to record 3+ blocks (+140), and he only records two but ends up leading all players in P/R/A, that user will still be paid out their share of the bonus bets. Hitting on a bet is always nice, though.
The three players with the highest P/R/A over-unders for tonight’s slate are the Los Angeles Lakers’ Luka Dončić (52.5), the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo (46.5), and the Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (42.5). Below, I’ll lay out my favorite prop bets centered around those three players so users know where to start as they bet on the stars.
Luka Dončić 2+ Steals (-118)
Dončić’s points, rebounds, and assists props might feel like a more natural fit, given his offense-first nature, but 35.5 points is an extremely difficult bar to clear, even though he had 42 last night and likely won’t have to share any touches with LeBron James, who’s expected to sit on the second night of the back-to-back. Dončić’s defense has been panned widely for much of the last two seasons, but like several other offense-first guards, he tends to gamble for steals, which occasionally results in gaudy counting stats. Since the start of 2026, he’s had multiple steals in five of his six games despite individually having the Lakers’ third-worst defensive rating in that span.
For the season, the Atlanta Hawks have allowed the eighth-most steals per game, and while that’s partially a function of the since-departed Trae Young, they haven’t had elite ball security without him on the court, either. Across the last eight games, since Young’s final appearance with the franchise, they’ve still allowed the 15th-most, and during Young’s prior absence, they allowed the fourth-most. Atlanta’s system is heavily predicated on ball movement — during Young’s initial stint on the sidelines, the Hawks averaged the sixth-most passes per game — and it might continue to be sloppy as it integrates CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert, who came from the Washington Wizards’ more isolation-heavy offense. Dončić’s steals more often tend to be a result of bad passes than loose handles.
Giannis Antetokounmpo 11+ Rebounds (-120)
Antetokounmpo has carried the Bucks on his back since returning from a calf strain on December 27, and the team has logged five wins in eight games, allowing him to temporarily quell some of the trade rumors that perpetually surround him. Across that span, he’s averaged 29.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, and though he only snagged 11 boards twice, his slight minutes restriction has slowly been eased. Given a full minutes load, 11 rebounds should be a guarantee for Antetokounmpo, given that he’d averaged at least that many in each of the previous seven seasons.
Normally, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been strong on the glass, as they rank 12th in total rebounding percentage and have allowed the 12th-fewest boards per game overall. However, Minnesota will be without Rudy Gobert, who committed his fifth flagrant foul of the season in the Timberwolves’ win over San Antonio and triggered an automatic one-game suspension. With Gobert on the court, Minnesota has had the equivalent of the league’s fourth-best rebounding percentage, but without him, that drops to the equivalent of its seventh-worst. The Timberwolves will also be without Anthony Edwards as they manage his right foot injury, so they’ll have less efficient players attempting Edwards’ usual shots instead. In turn, that should result in more rebound chances for Antetokounmpo.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander U31.5 Points (-118)
Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the most talented scorers in NBA history and should win his second consecutive MVP come season’s end, but amid Oklahoma City’s slow stretch, he just hasn’t scored at his usual clip. Across the last 14 games (in which the Thunder are just 8-6), he’s only scored 32 or more points five times, including only once in three tries against the Spurs. For the most part, the exceptions came against teams that aren’t exactly known for their defense: he scored 46 against the Utah Jazz, 39 against Atlanta, and 32 against the LA Clippers prior to that team’s turnaround. The one game in which he scored 33 against San Antonio, Wembanyama was limited to just 23 minutes off the bench.
That won’t be the case tonight; while the Frenchman will likely be on somewhat of a minutes restriction still, he’ll be in the starting lineup and likely play 28-30 minutes, aligning his time on the court more closely with Gilgeous-Alexander’s and effectively cutting off his drives. Any time Wembanyama is on the floor, the Spurs’ defensive rating jumps to a mark nearly on par with Oklahoma City’s league-leading efficiency, and he’s limited opponents to just 38.3% shooting so far in January. Wembanyama’s impact could be even greater tonight without Isaiah Hartenstein to physically jostle him out of the paint. Plus, in the teams’ three matchups, Stephon Castle has limited Gilgeous-Alexander to just 16 points on four-for-11 shooting.
