The first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final between Newcastle and Man City will take place on Tuesday at St James’ Park. The second leg of the tie is scheduled for February 4th in Manchester.

Man City are +115 moneyline favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday’s game, with a draw available at +250. Fancy a Newcastle upset? The Magpies are +205 on the moneyline. The game is slated to kick off at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Newcastle vs. Man City Prediction, Pick

For this bet to hit, we need Newcastle to win the game. If it ends in a draw, the bet will void. We have reached the semi-final stage of the Carabao Cup, which means this game will be taken seriously by both teams as a trip to Wembley for the final is within reach. Newcastle are looking to retain their trophy, and a positive result in the first leg of the semi-final is crucial to doing so. Going to the Etihad in February will be a tough test, so having a lead to take with them to that game is a must. It’s no secret that the pressure is on the home side in the first leg, and I expect them to be on the front foot early.

The Magpies got a win over their opposition in the Premier League already this season, beating Man City 2-1 at home in late November. Whether they can replicate that is yet to be seen, but this game comes at a good time for Newcastle. They are unbeaten in their last four matches, and have scored goals for fun in this period, netting 12 times. For Man City, they are coming off three straight draws in the Premier League, but they did have an emphatic 10-1 win in the FA Cup over the weekend, albeit against League One side Exeter City.

Newcastle are in decent form and their crowd will be right up for this one as they look to defend their crown. The Magpies might not win this one, but I certainly don’t see them losing it either. If they do, they would be in a tough position heading into the second leg.

The Pick: Newcastle Tie No Bet (+135)
