The Philadelphia Eagles open their Super Bowl title defense at home Sunday afternoon, hosting the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card round.
The defending champs (11–6) captured the NFC East title for the third time in four years to earn the third seed in the conference. The Niners (12–5), meanwhile, finished third in the NFC West and will enter the postseason as the No. 6 seed.
Sunday’s contest will mark the teams’ first meeting since Week 13 of the 2023 season, when the 49ers rolled to a dominant 42–19 victory at Lincoln Financial Field.
Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET. Philadelphia enters as a six-point home favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, while San Francisco is listed as a +220 underdog. The game’s total is set at 44.5 points.

49ers vs. Eagles Best Prop Bets
Christian McCaffrey Anytime Touchdown (-125)
While Philadelphia boasted elite pass coverage during the regular season, its rush defense was spotty at best. The Eagles finished in the bottom half of the league in opponent rushing yards allowed and surrendered the NFL’s sixth-most rushing touchdowns (20). That bodes well for San Francisco, whose lineup features superstar running back Christian McCaffrey.
This season, the 2023 AP Offensive Player of the Year handled 311 carries for 1,202 yards and 10 touchdowns, tied for the ninth-most in the league. He reached the end zone six times in his last seven games and appears well-positioned to continue that production into the playoffs against a vulnerable Philadelphia defense.
Jalen Hurts 220+ Pass Yards (+120)
Whereas Philadelphia struggles to contain the run, San Francisco is especially vulnerable through the air. During the regular season, the Niners recorded just six interceptions (second fewest in the league) and only 20 sacks, the worst mark in the NFL. Opposing quarterbacks produced the NFL’s fifth-highest completion rate (68.2%) for the 10th most passing yards and 11th-most passing touchdowns (29).
Enter Jalen Hurts. The reigning Super Bowl MVP hit 220+ passing yards seven times during the regular season after repeatedly surpassing the mark in last year’s playoffs. Facing a weak pass rush and spotty secondary, count on Hurts to deliver once again.
Saquon Barkley Under 102.5 Rush + Receiving Yards (-113)
It was a regular season to forget for Saquon Barkley. After nearly breaking the single-season rushing record in his first year with the Eagles, the star running back finished with just 1,140 yards, ranking 10th in the league, on a disappointing 4.1 yards per carry in 2025.
Barkley’s involvement in the passing game also declined sharply, with no more than three targets in a game after Week 13. Overall, he averaged 88.3 combined rushing and receiving yards per contest and only exceeded 102.5 yards only three times all season. In each of those games, he cleared the total on the ground alone.
Against San Francisco’s solid run defense, which ranked 11th in opponent rushing yards, Barkley seems unlikely to produce a lofty yardage total on Sunday afternoon.
