We’ve got more Unrivaled action on Saturday as the new season rolls on! The Laces and the Mist square off Saturday night after both opened the season with wins, setting up one of the most intriguing matchups of the weekend.
The Mist enter as 3.5-point home favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 135.5. Let’s get into my prediction and pick for Saturday’s star-powered three-on-three showdown.
Laces vs. Mist prediction
The Mist kicked off Unrivaled’s sophomore season in a big way, pouring in 72 points on opening day — the second-most among all eight teams — with five of their six players reaching double figures. While 3× WNBA Champion and Unrivaled co-founder Breanna Stewart couldn’t get it going from deep (0-for-3 from beyond the arc), she still shot an efficient 50% from the field. The real headline, though, was Allisha Gray. Gray led the way with 21 points and nine rebounds, setting the tone in a statement win.
Coming off a WNBA season in which she averaged 18.4 PPG for the Atlanta Dream and helped guide them to the playoffs, I expect Gray to remain a dominant force throughout the Unrivaled season. Her shooting ability and veteran presence pair perfectly alongside Stewart, giving the Mist a dynamic one-two punch. It’s also worth noting that the Mist currently sit as the favorites to win it all at +300 on DraftKings Sportsbook. With shooting, depth, and championship experience across the roster, this team looks built to dominate.
On the other side of this matchup sits the betting favorite runner-up at +400: the Laces. Featuring a starting trio of Alyssa Thomas, Brittney Sykes, and Jackie Young, the Laces are loaded with proven WNBA talent. Young is coming off a monster WNBA season in which she, alongside reigning MVP A’ja Wilson, led her team on a 16-game regular-season winning streak that carried all the way through the playoffs to a championship. While Young’s game isn’t flashy, she’s as complete as they come and can drop 20+ points on any given night.
Pair her with Alyssa Thomas — who nearly averaged a triple-double in the 2025 WNBA season (15.4 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 9.2 APG) — and you’ve got a lethal core. Thomas scored just six points in her Unrivaled opener, but she still made her presence felt, adding eight rebounds and three assists in only 9.8 minutes as the Laces secured the win.
Laces vs. Mist pick
Both squads bring elite experience and plenty of scoring firepower, making Saturday’s matchup one of the most competitive of the weekend. While the star power of Thomas and Young is hard to overlook, the Mist’s depth gives them the edge for me. Arike Ogunbowale and Alanna Smith both reached double figures in Game One, and the Mist’s bench outscored the Laces 25–18. Keep an eye on both teams all season long, but for Saturday, I’m backing the co-founder’s squad to get it done.
