Heading into the 2025 fantasy football championship for most leagues, QB-WR rapports, target shares and more have been established among the league’s receiving corps. With all of that in mind, let’s break down my WR start/sit Week 17 fantasy football picks.

Start ‘Em: DJ Moore (Chicago Bears) at San Francisco 49ers
After one of the most frustrating regular seasons from a former WR1 in recent memory, DJ Moore is officially looking like a league winner.
Over the first two rounds of the fantasy playoffs, Moore has amassed almost 45 PPR points. The veteran has found the end zone three times over said span, re-establishing his role as Caleb Williams’ top playmaker, including an incredible game-winning touchdown in overtime against Green Bay.
With the status of Rome Odunze and Luther Burden still up in the air, Moore is poised to receive a significant target share once again this week. In a crucial contest for Chicago, I expect Williams to look his way early and often. Fire Moore up as a high-end WR2.
Sit ‘Em: Khalil Shakir (Buffalo Bills) vs. Philadelphia Eagles
A season full of ups and downs has seen much more of the latter lately for Shakir. Josh Allen’s top target hasn’t exactly looked like it recently. The speedy slot technician has scored double-digit fantasy points just once over his last four outings. He’s seen a snap share over 50% the same amount of times across that span.
All signs are pointing down for Shakir heading into a tough tilt with the Eagles. Philly is surrendering the sixth-fewest fantasy points to receivers and seventh-fewest passing yards per game. The gameplan for Buffalo seems simple heading into this contest, keep the ball on the ground with Josh Allen and James Cook and you’ll have a shot. Shakir’s upside is unfortunately capped, making him an undesirable fantasy asset.

Start ‘Em: Stefon Diggs (New England Patriots) at New York Jets
In the words of Michael Corleone, or more recently, Silvio Dante…
Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.
They, of course, being Stefon Diggs in this situation. After dropping off the face of the earth from Weeks 12-15, the veteran showed up when he was needed most in Baltimore. Diggs hauled in nine of 10 targets for 138 yards, pacing New England’s improbable fourth-quarter comeback.
With a blowout likely coming over the Jets, there is potential for a dud here if Diggs doesn’t get involved early. However, I think 2.5-3 quarters of football will be enough for him to rack up high-end WR2 numbers as he chases that 1,000-yard campaign.

Sit ‘Em: Emeka Egbuka (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) at Miami Dolphins
After one of the hottest starts to a career in NFL history, Egbuka has gone ice cold just as fast. The rookie has failed to record double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five matchups.
With Mike Evans back in the equation, Egbuka has seen a usage rate below 65% in back-to-back contests. He earned a career-low two targets against the Panthers. All signs are pointing down for the former Rookie of the Year contender. If you were thinking about starting him in the fantasy championship, there have to be better options out there.
Those are my WR start/sit Week 17 fantasy football picks! Stay tuned for more fantasy football start/sit advice throughout this week.
