NFL on Saturday? I’d pay good money for this arrangement to stay. I’d even get down on my knees and pray. But I know that’s a pipe dream because college football is a behemoth and they have much to say. I guess I’ll just have to turn on the NBA and watch players drain J after J. But today, we survey the player pool and try to figure out who will blow up like a scene in a Michael Bay. The spreadsheets are open with stats galore. Which ones shall I weight more heavily? Which ones should I convey? Navigating through it all makes my fingers dance like in a ballet. Hopefully, they do not lead us astray. That would bring much dismay, causing me to pick up smoking again, crushing butts in the ashtray. I will try and be your humble attache. May the contents in the briefcase allow you to slay.

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders ($6,900)
Hurts is the only high-priced option at the position, so easy peasy. Now, we know that the Eagles want to ground-and-pound. On the season, Philadelphia is 29th in pass rate. Hurts can have monster games if pushed, but I have doubts that Marcus Mariota will be able to accomplish that feat. That said, the floor is relatively high for Hurts due to his rushing prowess. Hurts has carried 95 times for 376 yards and eight touchdowns this season. He’s put up double-digit FPTS in all but one contest this season with seven over 20 and two over 30 FPTS.
Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders ($7,200)
Last season, Barkley carried a whopping 345 times and racked up 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. That doesn’t include what he did in the playoffs, which culminated in a Super Bowl victory. Regression was expected, but man, no one thought it would hit like this. Through 14 games, Barkley has rushed 240 times for 940 yards and six touchdowns. He’s averaging 67.1 yards per game after posting 125.3 yards per game last season. That said, the Eagles and Barkley may have been managing him for the playoffs. We shall see if that was the case, but over the last two contests, Barkley has carried 20 and 22 times, putting up 21.2 and 17.2 FPTS. He still has the explosion, as evidenced by the 52-yard house call against the Chargers two weeks ago. This matchup should be a good one as Washington has allowed the fifth-highest EPA per carry, 4.7 yards per carry and 14 rushing touchdowns.
A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders ($6,700)
Brown is the only receiver priced above $6,000. It’s tough relying on Brown due to the low-volume, vanilla passing offense of the Eagles. That said, it’s tough fading him because Brown can put up 30 FPTS on any given night, something he’s done twice this season. Washington has allowed the highest EPA per dropback with 28 passing touchdowns, so the matchup is one of the best for aerial attacks. There’s a chance Brown is low-owned, which would make him a perfect pivot on such a small slate as we stack the Eagles against a weak defense.
