The Golden State Warriors can breathe a bit easier on Friday night. After losing four of five games in late November, the worst possible thing struck: a Steph Curry injury. That threatened to damage their record and playoff chances. But they survived his five-game absence with a 3-2 record, and he will fittingly return against the team that ended their 2024-25 season: the Minnesota Timberwolves. All eyes are on Curry to see how he responds.
The Warriors are 4.5-point home favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. They’re priced at -185 on the moneyline, while the Timberwolves are +154 underdogs. The total for this game is set at 228.5 points. Let’s get into my favorite Curry prop bet for this Timberwolves vs. Warriors showdown.
Best Steph Curry Player Prop
Historically, this matchup has been kind to Curry. It’s a significant reason why the Warriors felt good in last year’s Western Conference semifinals against the Timberwolves. Then disaster struck in Game 1; after scoring 13 points in 13 minutes, Curry took a wrong step and sprained a ligament in his leg. After eking out the Game 1 win, Golden State promptly lost the next four games with Curry watching from the sidelines.
It sure had the feel of a what-if given how Curry regularly abuses the Wolves. In his previous 10 games against Minnesota, Curry has scored 29.2 points per game, clearing 30 points in six of those 10 games. Through multiple iterations of this Wolves team, the Chef continued to cook.
The return from an injury is always scary territory for player props. But, given the nature of this injury, I’m not worried. Curry’s absence was due to a deep thigh contusion, and getting back into the lineup was simply a matter of the pain allowing him to play. Now that he’s over it (and had copious amounts of rest due to the NBA Cup playoffs this week), I expect a full dose of Curry tonight. He’s got another 30-ball locked and loaded for the Wolves.
