The San Francisco 49ers and the Tennessee Titans are in two heated races. Playing in the best division in football, the 9-4 Niners need a win to stay in the race for the NFC West with the 10-3 Rams and 10-3 Seahawks. Tennessee is in a different kind of race; at 2-11, it’s in a three-way tie for the No. 1 pick with the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders. That sure is some hefty motivation to lose. But will the players be willing to roll over?
On DraftKings Sportsbook, San Francisco is a massive -900 favorite on the moneyline, with the game’s total set at O/U 44.5 points. The spread favors the Niners by 12.5 points. If you’re keen on a Titans upset, they’re priced at +600 on the moneyline. Below, I’ll go over my favorite player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s NFL Week 15 matchup between the 49ers and Titans.
Titans vs. 49ers Best Prop Bets
Tony Pollard 50+ Rushing Yards (-111)
It’s sure been an up-and-down season for Tony Pollard and the Tennessee running game. Pollard cleared 50 rushing yards in four of his first five games, then cleared that mark only twice over his next seven games as the Titans’ offense fell apart. Going into a matchup with the stout Cleveland Browns run defense last week, optimism over Pollard was hard to find. Then he broke out.
Pollard turned 25 carries into 161 rushing yards and two scores, including that home run you see above. Now he gets a matchup with a decimated San Francisco run defense. San Francisco has allowed 100+ rushing yards in eight of 13 games this year, and now has to play without most of its linebacking group. Fred Warner is out for the year, and two of his backups (Nick Martin and Tatum Bethune) were DNPs in practice and seem unlikely to suit up. Dee Winters alone can’t keep Pollard contained.
Christian McCaffrey Over 19.5 Carries (+103)
Workhorse doesn’t begin to describe Christian McCaffrey’s usage this season. He’s handled at least 18 touches in 12 of 13 games this season, and 20+ carries in his last two games. This game screams three straight.
One, the Titans have a putrid offense that cannot hold on to the ball for very long. The ball possession game will be key for the 49ers, and that means lots of carries. Brock Purdy has been shaky at best since returning from his turf toe injury, and the gameplan offensively will be to avoid mistakes. McCaffrey does not make mistakes.
He may not be the most efficient runner, especially with Titans star nose tackle Jeffery Simmons lined up over his center. But he’s sure to get a monstrous amount of touches, even if the overwhelming favorites don’t run away with this game.
