As a nightcap for Wednesday’s NBA Cup slate, the Spurs will visit the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. Los Angeles wields one of the association’s most lethal trios: Austin Reaves, LeBron James and none other than Luka Doncic. The superstar has been terrific as always, leading the Purple and Gold to a 17-6 record. Can he keep the good times rolling tonight vs. San Antonio?

Los Angeles enters tonight as 7.5-point favorites (-105) over San Antonio. The total is set at 241.5 points. Ahead of Wednesday’s contest, here’s my favorite Luka Doncic prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Top Luka Doncic prop bet

Where to begin when discussing one of the NBA’s most prolific stat stuffers? This season, Doncic is averaging 35.0 points per game, best in basketball, on stellar 47/34/81 shooting splits. In addition, he’s chipped in with 9.2 rebounds and 9.1 assists. The Slovenian has tallied at least 30 points in each of his previous eight outings. That’s while sharing minutes and touches with fellow stars Reaves and James. In short, Doncic’s floor for production is sky-high.

With that being said, Luka’s elite consistency has led to some inflated totals for bettors. The line on the guard’s points is currently set at 34 points. That’s not an insurmountable number, but it’s also not something I’d be eager to wager on. After all, scoring is just one piece of the puzzle that makes Doncic so dangerous. Those all-around talents are often pushed aside in favor of his ability to put the ball in the basket.

The Spurs usually possess one of the association’s most intimidating defensive units. However, that’s taken a hit in the absence of Victor Wembanyama (calf). Without the Frenchman protecting the rim, San Antonio has looked vulnerable. Over its last three games, the team has surrendered an NBA-high 76.0 points in the paint. During that time, the Spurs have also coughed up a below-average 53.0 rebounds per game to their opponents.

Even with Wemby active, Luka has had little issue in this matchup. Over his previous ten meetings with San Antonio, the All-Star has posted 29.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game. In seven of those appearances, he’s notched at least nine boards. That includes a November 5th contest between these two teams, with Wembanyama active. Outside of current starter Luke Kornet, the Spurs lack size down low. Taking that into consideration, all signs are pointing towards another dominant day on the glass for Doncic.

Best Bet: Luka Doncic 9+ rebounds (-115)
