Ahead of Sunday’s matchup vs. the Jaguars, Breece Hall ($6,200) will miss Wednesday’s practice with a sore knee.
Hall has been the Jets’ clear No. 1 back this season, rushing 201 times for 877 yards and three touchdowns, while also catching 30 of his 40 targets for 309 yards and a touchdown. Hall is logging 66% of the snaps and he is handling 81.4% of New York’s running back carries, including 18 red zone rushes. In the passing game, Hall is seeing a 11% target share while running a route on 45% of his team’s drop backs.
As you can see, Hall’s role is immense, and if he sits this Sunday vs. Jacksonville, there will be a large void within the Jets’ offense. Isaiah Davis ($4,000) has been Hall’s primary backup all season and Davis would likely see a featured role if Hall was inactive.
Davis has actually been a more effective rusher than Hall, with Davis averaging 5.7 YPC, compared to 4.4 for Hall and, if the latter was inactive, Davis would likely be in line for 15+ touches. This matchup vs. the Jaguars isn’t ideal, as Jacksonville is giving up the fifth-fewest yards per rush this season (3.9) and New York is a 12.5-point underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook; but Davis’ heavy workload would give him solid upside regardless of the matchup and he would be a solid player to grab off waivers for the fantasy football playoffs this weekend if you’re in need of a RB3/FLEX play.
As for DFS, at only $4,000 on DraftKings, Davis would be an excellent punt play to consider, one that would help you jam multiple studs into your lineup. Davis has seen double-digit touches once this season with 12 touches vs. the Bengals in Week 8. With this volume, he produced 109 scrimmage yards and a season-best 17.9 FPTS.
