Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz left today’s matchup with the Vikings with a gruesome knee injury. Ertz was visibly shaken and required immediate medical attention before he was helped off and carted to the locker room.
Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong for Washington all year and Ertz adds to this unfortunate list. The 35-year-old was in the midst of another strong season with 49 receptions for 493 yards and four touchdowns.
More updates will be added as they are provided by the team, but it was not a good scene on the field today. The former Super Bowl champion will likely have a long recovery ahead of him and some tough questions about his NFL future, and hopefully the injury was not as significant as it appeared live.
