Tiger Woods is hosting the Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Course (par 72, 7,449 yards, Bermuda greens) in New Providence, Bahamas this week. Albany has been the host of the Hero World Challenge since 2016 and there will only be 20 golfers competing this week with no cut. Scottie Scheffler has won each of the last two Hero World Challenges and he is looking to become the first ever player to win this event three years in a row.
Below, I have featured my two favorite bets for the Hero World Challenge on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Cameron Young to finish top five including ties (+160)
Young has been playing stellar golf over the last few months. He has finished T11 or better at five straight tournaments. Young began this run with a win at the Wyndham Championship in August and he most recently finished T9th at the Procore Championship in September.
Following that event, Young kept his foot on the gas at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, going 3-1-0 in his four matches and finishing in tie with Xander Schauffele for the most points for Team USA. Young did all this damage despite it being his Ryder Cup debut, and he now heads to Albany, where Young finished third in his first attempt at the venue in 2022.
Young only finished 13th at Albany last season, but he was the leader following the first round, after opening the event with a an 8-under 64. He clearly has the tools to contend at this track and is playing arguably the best golf of his career right now.
Andrew Novak over Wyndham Clark (-115)
Novak is playing much better golf than Clark right now. He just finished T7 at the RSM Classic two weeks ago, marking his third top-25 finish in his last four starts. Novak carded a career-low 9-under 61 during this event, gaining strokes on approach and with his putter.
Clark, on the other hand, missed the cut at the World Wide Technology Championship in early November, and he hasn’t finished higher than T48 at three consecutive events. Overall, Novak has produced six top-10 finishes in 27 starts this season — including a win at the team based Zurich Classic with Ben Griffin as his partner — while Clark has only recorded two top-10 finishes in 24 starts.
Novak has never competed at Albany before, whereas Clark has played at this course twice, but the latter has struggled here. Clark finished just 19th and T17 in his two starts at this par 72, which are weak results for an event that only hosts 20 golfers.
Novak’s +4000 odds to win the Hero World Challenge on DraftKings Sportsbook are better than Clark at +4500.
