Jeff’s King of the Court Pick for Tuesday, November 25: Luka Doncic
Look, I get it. Chalk can be boring, but there have been five King of the Court rounds thus far in the 2025 season and Luka Doncic has won two of them. Every time he’s eligible to claim the crown, he’s got a great shot at doing so.
I considered but ultimately faded Doncic last week dude to the return of LeBron James, and it didn’t matter. Luka still racked up 52 points, rebounds and assists while seeing a massive usage rate. If anything, James’ return to action resulted in fewer double teams for Doncic, allowing him to create even more.
There are multiple elite contenders taking the floor on Tuesday. Jalen Johnson (who was my pick last week) is a stat-stuffing machine, he just tends to fall shy of the necessary scoring. Tyrese Maxey is the complete opposite, averaging 33 points per game this year, but he doesn’t provide the rebounds and assists upside Luka does. James Harden looked like one of the NBA’s best players in Kawhi Leonard’s absence, but with Leonard back in the equation his role shrinks considerably.
Overall, there are a number of guys who could challenge for the crown, but they all have sticking points. Doncic, meanwhile, faces no obstacle even with LeBron back for the Lakers. There’s no reason to believe he should fall shy of 50 PRA, making him the clear frontrunner and my choice for this slate.
