Flagg ($6,900) has been downgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s matchup vs. the Knicks due to an illness. The 18-year-old missed shoot-around this morning, per DALHoopsJournal’s Grant Afseth.
So far in his rookie season, Flagg is averaging 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 33.7 minutes per game with a 20.8% usage rate. The No.1 overall pick out of Duke has had some strong moments as of late, including a 21-point outing in an overtime win over the Trail Blazers this past Saturday, but Flagg unfortunately ranks dead last in plus/minus for this Mavericks team that is just 4-11 this season.
If Flagg is out Wednesday, Naji Marshall ($5,300) or Klay Thompson ($4,300) would likely move into Dallas’ starting lineup, and Brandon Williams ($5,200) and D’Angelo Russell ($4,700) would both see increased usage rates. Anthony Davis (calf) remains out. With Davis and Flagg off the floor this season, Russell and Williams lead the Mavericks with 30.9% and 28.2% usage rates, respectively.
With Flagg downgraded to questionable, Dallas has moved to a 7.5-point underdog vs. New York on DraftKings Sportsbook.
