Williams has been one of the top rushers in the NFL this season, averaging 5.2 YPC and 79.6 rushing yards per game, both of which are career-highs. However, the veteran has been much less of a factor in the passing game, averaging only 10.3 receiving yards per game.
Williams’ role as a pass catcher has especially diminished since CeeDee Lamb returned in Week 7. With the star wideout active for the Cowboys’ last three games, Williams has only caught one pass in each of these contests and he hasn’t finished with more than eight receiving yards in any of these tilts. During this span, Williams is only seeing a target on 8% of his routes while running a route on 64% of his team’s dropbacks.
Dak Prescott is targeting running backs at the fifth-lowest rate in the league this season (15%) and this is a poor matchup, as the Raiders are giving up the fifth-fewest receiving yards to running backs this season (233). Plus, Dallas is a 3.5-point favorite for this game, so the Cowboys may pass the ball at a lower rate than usual. While 11.5 receiving yards is a low line, all signs are pointing to Williams falling short of this number Monday.
