We get two of the heavyweights in the NFL going head-to-head on Sunday Night. Yippee! Last season, Detroit was the No. 1 seed in the NFC while Philadelphia was the second seed. Unfortunately, Washington upset Detroit, making the path a little easier for Philadelphia en route to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
If the playoffs were to start today, Philadelphia would be the top seed in the NFC with Detroit third.
Detroit has three losses on the season, two of those one the road. Granted, Green Bay and Kansas City are both excellent teams, but we know that Jared Goff plays much better indoors. Coming out of the bye, Detroit lost at home to Minnesota but bounced back with a thrashing of Washington.
Detroit has the third-highest EPA per dropback on offense with the 10th-best EPA per carry. The Lions rushing attack is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns. Goff has thrown 21 touchdowns with only three interceptions. He’s been sacked 18 times.
Philadelphia has posted the 15th-best EPA per carry on defense, allowing 4.4 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns. The pass defense is also 15th in EPA per dropback, racking up five interceptions and 19 sacks. The unit has allowed only eight passing touchdowns, tied with Denver for the fewest in the league.
On offense, we know what Philadelphia wants to do, as it is 30th in pass rate. While the aerial attack isn’t voluminous, the EPA per dropback is 12th-best with 16 touchdowns and only one interception. The rushing attack hasn’t been as good as last season with 4.9 yards per carry and 29 touchdowns. This season, Philadelphia is averaging only 4.0 yards per carry with nine touchdowns.

TE Brock Wright – Detroit Lions ($1,600)
Wright is dealing with an ankle issue and is officially questionable, but he participated in practices in a limited fashion Thursday and Friday. With Sam LaPorta already ruled out, Wright would step up into the lead role. Philadelphia has been one of the best at defending tight ends, though, as it has allowed the third-fewest FPTS on average to the position, but the price and expected role is too much to ignore. If Wright is unable to go, then Ross Dwelley ($200) would be atop the depth chart.
WR Kalif Raymond, Detroit Lions ($3,000)
Raymond has been playing around 50% of the snaps. He has yet to contribute double-digit FPTS or receive more than four targets in a game, but he did catch all four targets last week for 49 yards and rushed once for 10 yards. On the season, Raymond has garnered 17 targets with two red zone opportunities.
RB David Montgomery, Detroit Lions ($5,200)
Montgomery has played over 50% of the snaps only twice this season. Most of the time, he’s in the high-30s. He does have 18 targets on the season with 24 red zone opportunities. Montgomery has put up double-digit FPTS five times with a high of 32.4 FPTS.
