Jake Paul was initially scheduled to face Gervonta “Tank” Davis on November 15, but that fight was canceled. Now, Paul is finalizing a deal to face former Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua in December in Miami, according to Mike Coppinger from The Ring Magazine. This fight is expected to be broadcast live on Netflix.
Joshua, 36, is 28-4 with 25 knockouts in his career and is coming off a loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Before his previous loss, Joshua won four consecutive fights with three by finish. Joshua is also an Olympic Gold Medalist and is highly regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of this generation.
Paul is an influencer-turned-professional boxer with a 12-1 record, including seven knockouts, in his five years in the sport. In June, Paul beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. via unanimous decision. Paul’s lone heavyweight bout of his career came against Mike Tyson in November 2024. If this fight does come to fruition, it would be the toughest test of Paul’s boxing career.
