Out of nowhere, Harrison Jr. is expected to be out for Week 11 and possibly longer, as the receiver underwent surgery for appendicitis, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This comes at a poor time, as Harrison Jr. was finally starting to find his groove, scoring touchdowns in back-to-back games. Harrison Jr. is handling a 20.4% target share while running a route 85% of his team’s dropbacks this season, so with him sidelined this Sunday vs. the 49ers, there is a clear void within the Cardinals’ offense.
Trey McBride’s ($6,300) team-high 28.9% target share should reach new heights, making him arguably the No.1 tight end for Week 11, but Wilson ($3,800) should also see an increased role with Harrison Jr. sidelined. Wilson has operated as Arizona’s No.2 receiver behind Harrison Jr. this season, so with Harrison Jr. missing, Wilson should move up the depth chart and act as the Cardinals’ top wideout.
Wilson has seen a target on just 12% of his routes this season, but this rate should naturally increase sans Harrison Jr. and Wilson should run a route on nearly all his team’s dropbacks. This is also an appealing matchup, as San Francisco is allowing the fifth-most receiving yards (1,543) and fifth-highest completion percentage to receivers this season (67.4%).
Furthermore, Arizona figures to be in a negative game script as 3.5-point underdogs to the 49ers and this game presents a high 48.5-point total on DraftKings Sportsbook. While we can’t expect a big outing from Wilson, double-digit FPTS is totally possible for him this week. Wilson is a decent pickup if you need help at receiver in your season-long leagues and he is a viable punt play for DFS on DraftKings at only $3,800.
