Purdue Boilermakers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes prediction, pick for CFB Week 11 on Saturday 11/08/25

Columbia gathers under November light, gold towels rippling, as an unbeaten brand collides with a proud program nursing scars. Texas A&M arrives 8–0 off a bye, chasing résumé heft and committee optics after Baton Rouge fireworks. Missouri stands 6–2, homecoming charged, trying to turn two one-score cuts into resolve instead of residue. Old Big 12 ghosts drift through Faurot, but this feels like a referendum on mettle and memory. Alumni swarm the quad, the band saws the air, and a freshman under center meets a season’s hinge. One sideline hunts playoff ink; the other hunts a signature that resets its season. November asks for composure when the third quarter tightens and the crowd leans forward. Legacy writes itself when a team welcomes pressure and answers without flinch. Below is my prediction for CFB Week 11’s football game between the Missouri Tigers and the Texas A&M Aggies.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Purdue vs. Ohio State prediction, preview

The math still tilts scarlet and gray. Julian Sayin throws darts at 80.7% with 2,188 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. He has taken three sacks all season, which underscores rhythm and protection. Ohio State stacks 36.6 points per game with 437.5 yards, splitting at 284 through the air and 153 on the ground. Jeremiah Smith owns 55 catches, 725 yards, and nine touchdowns, a metronome who stretches safeties without wasted motion. The defense suffocates at 6.9 points allowed and 214.8 yards per game, with 81.8 on the ground and 133 by air. Caden Curry leads a front with seven sacks; Avrell Reese has 54 tackles and 6.5 sacks as a movable blade. That rush has produced 25 sacks and constant stress without overexposure.

Purdue fights, but the ledger is blunt. Ryan Browne sits at 1,822 yards with nine touchdowns and seven interceptions, and the offense averages 22.1 points. The run game hums at 142 yards per game, but explosive threats remain sporadic. Michael Jackson III owns 50 receptions for 456 yards with one touchdown, a possession anchor more than a detonator. The defense concedes 27.0 points and 395 yards per game, including 234 against the pass, and that profile invites precision surgery from an efficient machine. Takeaways (15) give hope, yet Sayin’s interception scarcity blunts that lever.

Counterarguments deserve oxygen because Ross-Ade loves weird. Purdue just pushed a ranked Michigan to 21–16 as a three-touchdown underdog. Noon windows can flatten tempo, and Ohio State carries a look-ahead shadow with Michigan looming. The Boilermakers own upset muscle memory, and crowds can bend cadence when favorites blink. I still trust Ohio State because repeatable edges dwarf variance. Completion rate, pass protection, and defensive strangulation travel to any kickoff time. Spoilermaker magic needs turnovers and explosives; this Buckeye build denies both.

Ohio State vs. Purdue pick, best bet

With a spread near 30, the question becomes finish versus management. Ohio State’s defense has yielded 55 total points in eight games, which compresses Purdue’s scoring band. If the favorite clears 34, a cover rides on normal defensive performance. Purdue’s offense has failed to reach twenty in four of five, which reinforces the same math. I prefer the side to the aggregate because the Buckeye defense governs outcomes more reliably than noon-tempo totals.

The script should look methodical before it stretches. Ohio State will open with tempo-neutral spacing, letting Sayin rip quick game to Smith and the tight ends. The run will probe interior and bounce late when safeties widen. Third downs tilt because accuracy plus clean pockets beat disguised zones. On defense, Ohio State will squeeze early downs with two-high structure and trigger late with simulated pressure. If the Buckeyes steal second-and-longs, the pass rush unleashes and turnovers stalk throws outside the numbers. Purdue wants body blows, play-action deep overs, and crowd swells off sudden changes. The Buckeye tackling profile and leverage angles mute those swings.

Day’s group plays with champion economy; they do not chase style at the expense of control. Odom’s room draws juice from legacy and last week’s fight, but fatigue grows when drives stall. Noon can dull a blade, yet layered dominance tends to sharpen by the third quarter. Composure, not fireworks, usually separates a No. 1 from an upset candidate.

I punch my ticket on Ohio State against the number and price a responsible ladder only if your local hangs a stale 29.5. The defense’s 6.9 points allowed and the offense’s 36.6 scored sketch a mid-thirties to low-teens window. Purdue’s 15 takeaways push back, but Sayin’s three turnovers in eight games rebuff the thesis of chaos. If the Buckeyes hit seven meaningful drives, the margin expands by accumulation, not explosion.

The ghosts will whisper, the bands will punch air, and fans will hold their breath on early third downs. Then structure will win. Ohio State layers patience, then torque, and Purdue’s resistance fades under cumulative weight.

Final score: Ohio State 41, Purdue 10.

Best bet: Ohio State -29.5 (-110) at Purdue
