What happened to Trae Young? Live injury updates for Hawks vs. Nets on Wednesday 10/29/25

UPDATE: Young will not return to the game.

With a little over two minutes left in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Nets, Atlanta Hawks star point guard Young was under the basket guarding a cutter on an inbounds play. Unfortunately, Mouhamed Gueye was pushed into him by a Nets player, making contact with Young’s right leg.

Prior to exiting, Young contributed six points, one rebound, an assist and a block in seven minutes.

Keaton Wallace was the substitute and will likely soak up most of the point guard minutes, but Luke Kennard could be a factor while Dyson Daniels could handle more playmaking responsibilities. Vit Krejci could also get more minutes at shooting guard.
