Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts prediction, pick for NFL Week 8

The Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans are heading in two very different directions. The Colts have been the toast of the NFL so far, with a league-best 6-1 record. Meanwhile, the Titans are following up last year’s league-worst 3-14 season with a 1-6 start and have already fired their head coach. It’s hard to see a world where the gap between these two teams doesn’t increase on Sunday.

Indianapolis is a 14.5-point favorite at home on the DraftKings Sportsbook. If you fancy a Titans road upset, they’re priced at +900 on the moneyline. The total for this game is set at 47.5 points. Let’s get into a prediction and pick for this Titans vs. Colts showdown.

Titans vs. Colts preview

It’s all clicking for the Colts. Jonathan Taylor looks like the best running back in the NFL, leading the league with 697 yards and 10 rushing scores on 5.3 yards per carry. Daniel Jones has found new life with the Colts, completing 71% of his passes while limiting turnovers. He’s having fun spreading the ball around between Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, and the emergent rookie tight end Tyler Warren.

Things aren’t as rosy for the Titans. Tennessee is dead last in points scored per game (13.7) and 28th in points per game allowed (27.4). Getting doubled up on average is a brutal indictment of this team. It’s hard to even tell if Cam Ward is the guy or not; his running game is bad, he doesn’t have productive receivers, and his defense puts him in a position where he needs to take risks in predictable pass scenarios. It’s all bad in Tennessee.

Titans vs. Colts pick, best bet

Tennessee didn’t have much of a chance to begin with. Then they lost Jeffrey Simmons, their elite run-stuffing defensive tackle, for this matchup with MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor. On top of that, their top receiver, Calvin Ridley, will be sidelined. All signs point to a Colts blowout to move to 7-1 on the year.

Best Bet: Indianapolis Colts -14.5 (-112)
