After having a season-best performance of four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns vs. the Vikings last week (31.1 FPTS), Brown ($6,100) missed his second straight practice Thursday with a hamstring injury.
Missing practice this late in the week is always concerning and Brown sitting this Sunday’s matchup vs. the Giants wouldn’t be shocking. While the receiver’s production has been up-and-down this season, Brown’s role has remained elite, with him leading the Eagles in target share (27.4%) and air yards share (36.6%) while running a route on 97% of his team’s dropbacks.
There will be plenty of targets up for grabs if Brown is inactive and Goedert ($4,200) would be one of the primary beneficiaries in that situation. Goedert played four games without Brown last season and Goedert saw a target on a team-high 27% of his routes in those contests, including two redzone targets. In these games, Goedert averaged a six catches for 81.3 receiving yards, resulting 14.5 FPTS per game.
New York is giving up the 10th-fewest yards per pass this season (6.2), but Philadelphia carries a high 26.5-point implied team total on DraftKings Sportsbook and Goedert’s expected role without Brown would out trump the concerns about this matchup. If the wideout is out, Goedert will be a top-three tight end for Week 8 and a terrific DFS value play at only $4,200 on DraftKings. Plus, backing Goedert for over his 43.5-receiving yard line on DraftKings Sportsbook will be a sharp move if Browns is sidelined.
