Following a hefty 10-game slate on Tuesday, the NHL returns with a light three-game slate on Wednesday night. The Devils played against the Maple Leafs last night, and are the only team operating on the second leg of a back-to-back.

Best NHL props for Wednesday 10/22/25
Jesper Bratt 1+ Assist (-120)
The 27-year-old has recorded at least one assist in five of six games this season, ranking second in 5v5 primary assists and fourth in 5v5 assists per 60. Bratt shares a line with Jack Hughes, who has netted six goals already this season, and his playmaking should continue tonight against a Wild squad that has had some goaltending woes to open the new season. Filip Gustavsson (3.04 GAA, .899 SV%) will start tonight, and New Jersey’s offense that ranks inside the top-10 in both 5v5 xGoals% and 5v5 goals above expected should be able to take advantage. My biggest concern is the lack of rest for the Devils, having played last night, but zero days’ rest hasn’t seemed to affect Bratt much in the past.
Dylan Larkin 4+ Shots on Goal (+165)
There are numerous ways to attack this game, but I’m rolling with Larkin, who leads his team in both points (11) and shots on goal (20). The 29-year-old center has carried Detroit’s offense thus far, and should continue to get the puck on the net often again tonight against a Sabres squad that has allowed the second-most shots on goal per game. 25-year-old goaltender, Colten Ellis, is expected to make his first career start for Buffalo tonight, too, so I’m expecting some hiccups. Larkin ranks third on Detroit in 5v5 shots on goal per 60 and 5v5 shot attempts per 60, and has cleared this line in three of six games this season.
Cole Caufield Anytime Goalscorer (+150)
Caufield has gotten off to a hot start, leading his team in goals (5) and ranking second in points (8). He has failed to find the back of the net in back-to-back games after scoring his five goals in a three-game span, but tonight’s matchup against the Flames is a great bounce-back spot. Caufield has only totaled two shots on goal across the last two games, but still ranks first on the team in expected goals and second in shots on goal per 60. Calgary has allowed the 12th-most shots per game and third-most goals per game. The club is also very undisciplined, ranking second in penalty minutes per game, which is an area Caufield will likely look to exploit.
