Best College Football player prop bets for Sam Houston Bearkats vs. UTEP Miners on Wednesday 10/15/25

Missouri State arrives with sharper air production, Middle Tennessee with speed and the ache of missed red-zone finishes. Both rank outside the top 90 in third-down conversion and live on tempo to disguise imbalance. The Bears throw for 261.8 yards per game, the Blue Raiders for 229.6, and each offense needs rhythm more than explosion. It’s the kind of mid-October matchup where player props beat spreads — volume, usage, and leverage outweigh reputation. Tonight, efficiency wins, and these overs tell the sharper story. Below are my top college football player props to consider at DraftKings Sportsbook for the Week 7 matchup between the Sam Houston Bearkats and the UTEP Miners.

Sam Houston vs. UTEP best prop bets

Sam Houston team total u21.5 total points (-110)

Sam Houston’s offense is sputtering. They average just 17.3 points per game, and their scoring drives are scarce. According to advanced metrics, the Bearkats’ offense ranks 129th in EPA per play, dead last in Conference USA. UTEP’s defense has been stout all season—32nd nationally in defensive EPA/play and 25th in success rate. The Miners have held strong offenses to low scores (only 19 by Liberty and 27 by Texas). Sam Houston simply lacks firepower or big-play ability. Expect a slow, grinding game. With Sam’s passing attack the worst in the nation (136th-ranked pass defense allowed), drives will stall. The Bearkats should come up well short of 20 points. An under on Sam Houston’s point total is strongly supported by their inefficiency and UTEP’s lockdown defense.

Kenny Odom 50+ receiving yards (-105)

Kenny Odom is UTEP’s go-to target. He’s caught 26 passes for 300 yards (11.5 YPC, 50 yards per game). That exactly outpaces the 50+-yard prop. Odom is a big-play threat (long of 74 yards this year) and is running wide open against most coverage schemes. Sam Houston’s secondary is terrible, so Odom will have room to operate. Look for quick outs, slants, and occasional deep balls to him. UTEP will lean on short throws to set up yardage; Odom is the primary beneficiary. We project him hauling in five or more passes, easily totaling 50+ yards. In essence, the matchup and UTEP’s passing volume make Odom overtaking 50 yards very likely.

Hunter Watson 180+ passing yards (+100)

UTEP’s coverage can be stretched if you force its safeties to sit on QB run and split-flow. Hunter Watson has the profile to do exactly that. He’s averaged 150.8 passing yards per game through five, completing 59.2% with 5.8 yards per attempt and a 4–3 TD–INT line. His legs are more than ornament; he’s added 208 rushing yards on 61 carries and two rushing scores, which drags an overhang defender into the fit and widens the glance/post windows Sam Houston likes off play-action. Sam Houston’s staff has leaned into quick-game hitches, dagger, and play-action crossers when trailing or in neutral script, and Watson’s 192.4 total offense yards per game signals enough weekly runway for a modest passing spike. UTEP’s front hasn’t feasted on mistakes, and its back end concedes on-time throws between the numbers. Two chunk completions into those soft seams—helped by Watson’s keeper threat—and the baseline rhythm should carry him past 180. If the Bearkats chase at any point, attempts climb, and the over turns from plausible to probable.
